Do you even know who coaches your defense?

I don't think he does. Ellis Johnson is USCe.

Paul Rhoades should be higher.

Nice try.

The real question is do you or even the players knows who coaches LSU's D?

I saw "SC" and my pager went off and got all excited. My bad and that looked pretty bad.

Nick Holt looks like Lou Ferrigno's surprisingly normal son.

Where was Tyrone Nix on that list? He has done a great job at Ole Miss. I think he should be in top 10-12

+1 and Saban, who, even though not listed as a "DC", anyone who believes he's not THE DC is fooling themselves. Some of these guys do not appear to have faced good offenses. It seems a bit of a popularity poll, or based on this ear alone.

It would help to see what the turnovers created, sacks/hurries/flushes, ground and air ypg and ypg against ranked opponents have been for the last five years.

Dick Bumpas is an Arkansas Alum and in our HOF. You can bet that if we get a new DC this year we will be going after him.

John Chavis is ranked 14th for those who think he should be hired...

ANY of these guys would be completely adequate. LSU doesn't have to shut teams out to win these days. This isn't the Jimbo patented run and punt offense of old. LSU just needs a defense that doesn't give up HUGE scoring plays several times per quarter.

That list lost a bit of credibility with Martinez from Georgia showing up on Page 1 with an Up Arrow. Georgia's defense is the #1 reason why they are considered under achievers and are ranked right above LSU in Scoring Defense - #65, giving up 25.6 points a game.

LSU and Georgia will likely be pursuing the same Defensive Free Agents in the off season. Let's hope Les is more persuasive than Richt and goes after someone with a proven track record in the secondary. If we shore up the pass coverage, the rest falls into place.

UGA's offensive line play this year didn't help either. IMO they were in the same position as LSU was last year with an on average competition level slightly lower. They failed miserably.

UGA has some real issues facing them in the future.

I wouldn't mind Ellis Johnson. Think he would want to get out of SC?

I doubt it since this was his 1st year there. The guy just came from Moo St. last year. He is very good and he is the turn-around to SC's defense this year.

Re: Charlie Strong - the guy has the makings of an excellent head coach but he consistently gets overlooked.

If UF's D does the job next Saturday like they have been all year, he's probably not about to get overlooked again.
