He sucks, and he has for several years. He was never as good as LSU fans thought he was. LSU fans thought he was a NFL Hall of Fame lock once he entered the league.

What a terrible take

He was picked 5th overall so OBVIOUSLY someone besides LSU fans thought he was good (which he was). This place never ceases to amaze me.

hope that he saved plenty of his money, because next step will probably be out of the league, and sounds like he doesn't care.

He's lost his mojo without being able to ride his horse onto the field pregame.

Can’t really speak on this situation, but It’s funny when you hear former players say that current guys need a plan after football. But anytime players are doing something in addition to football, they “aren’t focused on football”. Seems a little hypocritical

Read a supremely retarded post, look at the username to see who posted it, never fails to be cbree88 these days. Keep up the hard work and you’ll be the undisputed worst ranter of all time before you know it

You play the way Devon plays it will wear you down quick. His body may not be able to to what it used to do.

This would be a great opportunity to watch his episode on the Pivot where he breaks this down, obviously from a players point of view (which he reiterates). You have a guy who has similar numbers as the Top 5 LBs, and he wants to be paid like it. Last year in Tampa, he was on pace to have his normal year, and injured himself. He played through it...and ended up making it worse. He had to sit down. The rookie played well, and being in a money year, Tampa drew their line in the sand. Devin could have went to multiple teams this off season, but chose to go to Philly, mostly because of a phone call he had with the GM. Come in, prove it, and I'll take care of you...(Philly has a track record of doing that)...and by the way they were considered to be a good team. Well, they also drafted a really good Nacoby Dean last year, who took some good leaps this offseason. Devin started LB this preseason, and it wasn't until the opening week that he was informed that Dean would be the starter.

IMO, just a case of bad timing to be in his position. He can still play football, and if you know ball and business, this is political.

Cheers and Happy Friday!!!

Devin White has 45million in career earnings, a Super Bowl ring and lifetime NFL benefits.

Not every guy wants to play linebacker for 15 years and retire with no knees, brain damage and nothing but a trophy case to show or their life.

If DW doesn't play another down in football and he's happy then he's earned that.

NFL stands for Not For Long and seems like that is the case for White. Dude was a beast and was great for TB the first few years. Was a big part of their SB. From everything I’ve heard he has lost a step and makes poor reads now and he can’t make up for them with his supreme athleticism and speed he use to have. He isn’t great in the run game right now cuz he is struggling to shed blocks and can’t cover in pass coverage. Basically at this point of his career he is left being a push rushing middle LB which isn’t enough to make the Sunday roster. Still one of my all time favorites.

I don’t think taking a pro bowl linebacker who is a staple on a SB winning defense is “getting it wrong”

Not a single thing I said was inaccurate, regardless of how many LSU fans it causes to clutch their pearls when they hear it.

He’s the definition of overrated. Top 5 pick based on physical attributes but never could live up to his hype. That’s exactly what overrated means. He wasn’t as good as expected.

LaVonte David was always a better linebacker than him.

Lavonte David has been the guy since before White was drafted, back when the Bucs were awful/hopeless.

Lavonte David has been in Tampa for like 12 years. He helped Devin white prosper. He would make some huge hits and could run sideline to sideline but he wasn't great against the run or the pass.

Without his crazy athleticism he would've never been a top 5.pick. looking back he should've never been a top 5 pick.

You haters are fricking crazy!

In 5 years with the Bucs, Devin White has:
Played in 76 games
Started 75 games
21 interceptions
6 forced fumbles
9 fumble recoveries
21 pass defenses
2 fumbles returned for TDs
23 sacks
40 TFLs
566 total tackles
- 364 Solo tackles
- 202 Assisted tackles
————————————-
All Pro (2nd team)
Pro Bowl
Super Bowl ring

But he’s a bust? Yeah ok. Good call idiots!
