Sorry I have never had any faith in him even when Miles was hired.

I didn't lose faith in Les, but I had accepted the fact that there were some things that were very wrong and probably could not be corrected until after the season was over. After you get to the dance, you may learn that your date is not a very good dancer, but you hang with her for the dance anyway.

My faith and respect for Miles never wavered throughout the disappointing season. He coached the second half of the season to limit our mistakes rather than drive our power like last season. He has made moves to rectify the problems in a classy, honorable manner. May he stay a long time. We are going to contend for SEC West next year.

I never lost faith, but it gave a boost to the hope I have that we are going to hover around greatness for the next 10 years.

i support the guy but i was more frustrated. how could he watch jefferson every day at practice and not see that he deserved a chance.

Here, maybe if I yell, it'll finally break through:
BECAUSE JJ HADN'T MASTERED MORE THAN ABOUT 6 PLAYS OUT OF THE PLAYBOOK AND YOU CAN'T WIN AN ENTIRE GAME AGAINST MOST SEC OPPONENTS USING THE SAME 6 PLAYS REPETITIVELY. Not to mention, the rest of the SEC coaches pick up on that fact on film quickly and prepare for it when LSU plays their teams.

Plus, he got dinged on his first play on the goal line earlier in the year, which held him back for a little while ... and a little while counts big time with a young, inexperienced freshman QB.

As good as JJ played against Arky (and especially against GT in Bowl), his lack of mastery of the playbook was evident in the second half of both games.

HOWEVER, I have no doubt JJ will continue to work on his understanding of the playbook, reading defenses in the film room, accuracy in his passing game, etc., and will emerge a much more polished starting QB next fall.

A 17 year old young man comes to LSU, has to take college level classes, play FB, get acclimated to the whole college life thing. It's hard to master enough of your playbook in the midst of all that your freshman year sufficiently enough to lead your team as a true freshman at QB. THAT is why CLM and GC tried to stay with JL earlier on after Hatch's injuries.

JJ's and LSU's FB future is bright!

Stop and think about GT. If ever there was a one dimensional team on offense, there was it. Hell, a good JC defense with a month to prepare for them would have stopped it.

Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Alabama would have eaten him alive and no head coach would have made a panic move like that.

Aub....I don't think so.
Fla......We were eaten alive.
UGA.......JJ could have been the difference in that game. Instead, we were eaten alive.
Bama.....That game would've been close no matter who the qb was for us.

up until Hatch got hurt the co-qb was workable

Hatch is a great guy, but he's not an SEC QB.

you are rediculous bordering

What was ridiculous, was the way the team played & was coached during the regular season...I really do hope that this season was just like another poster said "a hiccup".

Wrong...players play...coaches don't.....if the players do not prepare, it's their fault....too much blame goes on the head coach....not this time....

Florida State, Miami & Georgia are laughing at you. BTW, always nice to see someone sign on for 9 minutes, then scurry away..

I was losing mine. I can remember more than a couple times where the team came out uninspired and looked totally unprepared. Basically they looked like they had hardly been coached.

The above assesment is very typical for our clueless geek fan base.

Considering the QB position was empty of any SEC playing experience, and we had lost a lot of BCS Championship leadership from last year, I did not lose faith in Coach Miles.

There is a lot more than just coaching that goes into the performance of an SEC football team. We had the coaching the whole year, but a combination of a lack of true leadership by team members, a lack of experience at key positions, and a lack of hunger by some on the team produced the late season losses.

As long as Miles keeps the recruiting program at its lofty level and continues to attract quality coaches, LSU will continue to be a perennial power--no matter what our ignorant fan base thinks!

I seriously doubt it, even though Gardner Webb held them to 10 pts. they are 1-AA...and no I did not lose faith in Miles I already knew it would be a long year when Miles did the right thing in kicking RP off the team...

How could he have looked at Lee and Jefferson every day in practice and still play Lee over him.

the same way Saban played Marcus Randall over Jamarcus. It's really hard for true freshmen to start at QB in the SEC. I'm sure Lee was far and away ahead of Jefferson in knowing the playbook. That shite matters.

No, but this thread has caused me to lose faith in people who use terms like "CLM".

You think wrong--we would not have won that game with Jefferson. Dude was not ready.

Not really. We were in the game for a while.

doubtful. We lost at home to an Arkansas team that was much inferior to Georgia. And it was later in the season. And we scored more points against Georgia.

Instead, we were eaten alive.

Brah, we lost by 2 fricking touchdowns and were in the game halfway through the 4th quarter.

People keep saying this, but I swear to God LSU is an SEC team and Hatch is a quarterback on that team.

I agree. It was a shite job by Miles and the rest of the coaching staff, but not playing Jefferson earlier was not a big part of it. Some of you seem to not be able to grasp that guys--especially freshman QBs--actually progress throughout the season with practice reps and studying. You think that JJ was just as good in September as he was on New Year's Eve. Which is retarded. fricking retarded.

Lee was redshirt freshman qb who was forced to play because RP was kicked off the team, (who could ever imagine that happening) and also forced to play more in games because Hatch went down with injury. Unfortunately, Lee just like you keep saying about JJ was also not ready to play, so why not JJ?...I don't blame Lee though, as we agreed on, it was a crappy coaching job by Miles this season.

I'm sure he'll be tough to beat out for the starting job next season.
