LSU fans have seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows and everything in between
One thing that hasn’t changed is my support of the program through good and bad times
This two decade run has been as good as it gets
Can O recapture the magic
We will see going forward
If not I’m confident Woodward will make a solid hire and it isn’t that his main job do to footballs part in funding the entire athletic dept

Which is sad. He hasn’t been at Ole Piss in over a decade. Truly has no bearing on what he does now. People hold that against him but never hold Miami against Saban. It’s a helluva double standard

I think it’s a Louisiana thing to complain about everything. Too much French blood in the population.

You dont understand the difference between going 15-17 in the nfl, and going 10-25 at ole miss?

I don’t like him.
I don’t dislike him.
He’s a commodity to me. Win, a lot, and it’s all good.
Don’t win, a lot, and it’s time to move on.
One magnificent year doesn’t buy time for me.

Not everyone has coached the greatest team in CFB history.
Not only coached...he put together that team, he didn't inherited it...yes there were a few left overs from Miles' last recruiting class of 2016 but CEO has been there since 2015 when he was hired as dline coach...he recruited many of those on the defensive side of the ball in that 2016 class...

You know you can be a head coach and not have to be in charge of one particular thing right? He’s a world class recruiter and motivator. He gave us the greatest season in history. And even when things have gone wrong (2020) he still ended it on a high note.

Wha..?! That's not the impression I got either of the past two seasons. Each disappointing loss would trigger a legion of calls for Wade's firing on this board.

I would describe the feeling as "uneasy" vs. disdain. We'll know which season was the fluke - 2020 or 2019 - soon enough.

In the last 20 years Who has actually won at Ole Miss? Without significant cheating? Let’s not act like ole puss is a gold mine abd ed o just shuts the bed for no reason. Saban STILL FAILED. They both failed. But the point is neither of those stints from 10+ years ago should hold any merit NOW! Things change. People change.

I think the poor results in his time at Ole Miss has forever clouded his coaching reputation.
But in retrospect, Houston Nutt underachieved there too. He won a few games in 2008 and 2009 with Coach O's recruits, and then failed miserably his last two seasons there.
This...if anyone would get off their arse and do some research instead of just looking at the record they will see Hugh Freeze, who was an assistant at the time CEO was there flat out said that the reason they had success the first couple of years with Huston Nutt was because of the recruiting classes CEO was able to bring in and were finally paying off, after those recruits left is when things fell apart again, Nutt could not sustain that level of recruiting that CEO did and that CEO should have been given more time with what he had inherited...

I think we can say, in all fairness, Saban has made his bones in his 14 years as the Bama Don.

Considering his record before the entire world was on fire, I’d say 2020 was the fluke.
Posted on 8/7/21 at 8:11 am to Frogman93
I am hopeful that it was. Fall is much more interesting when the Tigers are winning.

That’s kind of my point here. The past is the past. Why hold something against someone that happened 10+ years ago?

It’s not. There’s a huge difference, but you knew that.

You’re missing my point here jackass. Both of those happened 10+ years ago. Why hold it against them now? They both failed.
Posted on 8/7/21 at 8:14 am to Frogman93
I didn’t hate CEO, I hated that LSU hired him. I’m indifferent now.
Posted on 8/7/21 at 8:15 am to Frogman93
I get your point completely, friend. And I agree coach O has successfully made people forget about Ole Miss. just pointing out that it isn’t a double standard for a very obvious reason.
