It's not part of any NCAA or LSU or SEC rule.
i bet you it is part of an LSU rule, and the rule of every other school who uses greyshirts

Of course not.

right now he has no scholarship
he was promised a scholarship that would be in effect right now
so yes, this scholarship was "subtracted"

You haven't even made a point.

it's a simple point
1. LSU induced porter to sign his LOI with a scholarship offer for the 2010-2011 season
2. porter accepted. LSU accepted.
3. LSU is now not offering porter a scholarship for the 2010-2011 season

So what?

Stop asking questions and supply some answers. Ooops, you can't because you know starting with the bowl practices, he will get 5(really 5.5) to play 4 and every dime worth of benefits every other non-greyshirt will get.

So what?
really?? you don't see what that is a problem?

This thread has gotten wayyy too long.

No greyshirt does.
you said earlier a greyshirt WAS a scholarship
and porter was not a "greyshirt" when he signed his LOI and this option had never been discussed with him
quote:
So what?
so LSU has revoked that scholarship
that's the entire point
they made a promise/guarantee, and they're backing out. it is the entire point

what answers?

that's not what LSU told him when he signed his LOI
had the greyshirt option been discussed before NSD, this wouldn't be an argument
now you have to ask yourself why LSU purposefully withheld this from porter

The sooner you realize that ethically unsound things occur at all levels of sports, then the sooner you can accept situations like this--doesn't mean it is the right thing, but sometimes crappy situations come to exist in an industry worth millions of dollars.

no that is the fricking discussion

i'm saying the kid is fricked over right now b/c LSU fricked this situation up and/or lied to the kid
that is the point

but the one thing rantards can cling to is miles reported honor/integrity. stuff like this destroys that
without integrity, what does miles bring to the table at an elite level?

I think this goes against people defending Les. Once people realize that shitty things like this happen they can realize that not every move that Les Miles does is full of sunshine and rainbows and he can make mistakes, bad decisions

quote:Whether he was told or not has nothing to do with what you are claiming. Bottom lines are pretty important. the bottom line here is: Starting with bowl practices, he will get 5(really 5.5) to play 4 and every dime worth of benefits every other non-greyshirt will get.

Now, go ahead and change your argumant yet again.

I don't think this one event ruins his integrity. That is purely my opinion, though.
