eliot porter had a scholarship offer for 2010-2011 from LSU (and no mention of any other plan)
What does he get in january? What will he be doing as soon as bowl practices start? yeah, i know.

You know his free ride will start in January if he shows.
that's not the point
the point is he was offered a scholarship for 2010-2011 and onward, not 2011-2012 and onward

yet you hang on "pulled" "lied" and whatever word fits your turn from the real issues.
the real issues are what was represented to the kid when he signed
what was represented? a scholarship offer for 2010-2011 and onward
did porter receive this? no
it doesn't get much simpler than that

who knows. it's not january
but that is an irrelevant question
when he signed, was he offered a scholarship for january 2011? no, so your point has no merit

um
you're talking about a kid who had been promised a scholarship for this fall and it was pulled

pulled
Look, I'm done with this. Pulled means gone forever to me in this context. It obviously doesn't to you. We will never agree. Since we can't agree on word meanings, the rest will never work. You've been dishonest in these threads, but that's nothing new. Have fun with someone else-it's no longer interesting.

you're wrong
pulling a scholarship is pulling a scholarship (which is a 1-year contract)

um
you are the one who called greyshirting a scholarship, not me

You know he will have 5.5 to play 4 if he shows
Does EP really "KNOW" this? He thought his free ride had already begun, only to find out that the train derailed. How does he "KNOW" that LSU won't look at the banner recruit class of 2011 and decide they don't have room for him in January either?

Anyone here seen a LOI and what exactly is involved from a legal standpoint. It sounds like SFP has with his breached contract theory lol:
Someone link me.

ever in the history of college football? sure I'd bet a least once or twice someone who was greyshirted ended up not getting that scholarship come jan. It's not like greyshirting is a guarantee like you think it is

Every school in the country uses gray shirts, whats the big deal. We had guys qualify at the last possible moment that we didn't think they would.
Oh well. shite happens. Nothing Les could do about it. If he had undersigned yall would have been bitching then too.

Most schools don't wait till August to tell a kid he has to greyshirt
I'm pro Les, but you don't have to be a "negatiger" to think this is a shitty thing to do to the young man
Posted on 8/4/10 at 11:56 pm to tigerguy121
Most schools dont have Australian transfers who somehow qualify at the last second either. NOBODY expected it.

The same shitty thing that probably happened to a kid on at least half the teams in the SEC give or take a few days.

names??
Besides, lots of wives cheat on their husband but if mine does it I'll still tie her to the bed and light the house on fire.
I don't care who else does it, when my team does it I think it's a shitty move to pull

he could have let the kids who would be forced to GS know before NSD that they were not going to get a full schollie if everyone qualified
that's the logical, thought-out plan
Posted on 8/5/10 at 12:36 am to SlowFlowPro
and it works both ways
sometimes grey shirts get full rides. i believe josh johns had this happen to him

Yeah you try competing with Urban Meyer and Nick Saban for recruits while telling kids that.
