Because ESPN hates us. Don't you know that?
Don't worry, I'm not one of those conspiracy theorists! :beatdeadhorse:
And, no, Baton Rouge is not in the same league as Boston (or any town with championship caliber pro teams). At least in recent years, between the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox, Boston is far and away the most deserving IMO.
My point was that neither Baton Rouge nor Boston were included among the sites that were listed. When was the last time that any team from Tennessee brought home a title? Memphis came close in Basketball. It's been almost a decade since the football NC. And the other site listed? Please.
Even without a pro team, Baton Rouge has more championships between LSU and Southern than most cities in the country.
And, yes, L.A. should definately be toward the top as well from a historical perspective. Between the Lakers, UCLA, USC, Rams (way back), they've had a ton of championships.

I think LA is an easy choice for Titletown. Just in college athletics they have all of UCLA's basketball titles, USC's football titles, and USC's 13 (or around that) baseball titles, not to mention a few swimming and volleyball titles I'm sure. Then when you get started on the pro teams (Dodgers, Angels, Raiders and Rams of old, Kings, Lakers) it gets to be ridiculous. All that said, I think Titletown is stupid.

Titletown is stupid, but Los Angeles is it. UCLA and USC have 184 national titles put together (100 UCLA 84 USC). The Lakers have 14 NBA titles, the Dodgers have 6 titles (1 from Brooklyn), and the Angels have 1.
Outside of Los Angeles, Palo Alto has 94 national titles, Stillwater has 48, Fayetteville 41, and then Baton Rouge 40.
edit to add: these don't count college football titles so add accordingly.
