The tailgating was really lame, but I had a good time inside the game as we were getting the sh*t stomped out of us.
I was deep in Gator territory with maybe four other lsu fans in our section. The (sober) fans were nice for the most part. I love SEC fans, because we ALL know what it's like to love your team intensely enough to stay and keep cheering when you're way, way down. It's a matter of honor that we all seem to understand.
The UF band was really, really terrible, and that pumped in music SUCKED. I hope we NEVER do that in Tiger Stadium.
I'm considering UF (and a couple of other Florida schools) for grad school, although I'll never BE a Gator. I was impressed with the campus itself, and I'm going back a for a non-gameday visit/tour later this year. Seems like a nice place to live and work for a few years.
Congrats on the game, Gator fans. I hope our boys can take the whooping and use it to improve.

Gainesville =
My aunt lives there. Ugly, boring city that makes Baton Rouge look like a cultural metropolis.

Just in case everyone hasn't heard enough, here's my summary from the weekend:
1. The GPD is like Barney Fife with TWO bullets
2. LSU tailgating >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> UF tailgating
3. Jesus, my ears are still ringing from that Damn loudspeaker system in the north endzone!
4. Stadium got loud, but a LONG way from 4th quarter last year when USC score announced.
5. More noise comes from that jackass that ran his mouth over the loudspeakers the entire game than from the fans.
6. I know football is about making money, but UF is the king of commercialism...
.....it is EVERYWHERE in their stadium and in their program (bull gators, etc.).
7. Most fans were cool. Way above average number of jackasses (I've been to 5 other SEC stadiums).
8. Katrina was 3 years ago, and we've recoverd. What's your excuse?
9. The game sucked for sure, but the 3 Playmates at Gator City on Fri night and an above average number of drunk hotties made the trip worth it!!

If you thought our tailgating sucked, you were just in the wrong places. I've been to almost every school in the SEC, and while our tailgating isn't the BEST, it's pretty good.

it was really bad. i walked all around. we walked by the RV lot at 12:00 and it was practically empty.

SCar is my last school to visit of the 12. Of the 11 I've been to, UF is in the bottom 4.

A friend of mine who is an LSU alum and a coworker of his that is UF alum were both caught trying to sneak flask into the game. Guess which one we had to bail out of jail, and guess which one was released and bought another ticket? And no, he did not run his mouth. That is why I will never make the trip back. The fans were tolerable, but the police officers were absolute trash.

Tiger fans are great fans. They proved it
Sat. nite. I sit in the corner where our
visitors sit and didnt see any harassment
either way inside. I know it gets idiotic
in the stands sometimes but usually booze related.
I will say this and Ive been going to UF games since
the 60s. LSU fans do come in pretty wasted.
I have never seen so many opposing fans drunk.
I apologize for any abuses but our cops dont BS around. If you break a rule or talk back its out you go. I wouldnt be a cop for love or $$$.
as for banana man we had someone dress up like that for games back in the 70s....weird

this weekend was my first time in Gainesville. while I agree that LSU has our share of rude fans, I have NEVER seen anything like some of those assholes this weekend.
One word: obnoxious.

The 4th trip for my son and I. I think the atmosphere is great. Tailgating with the BR, Tampa, Orlandeaux, and J-Ville alumni behind the baseball field on Stadium Rd. Watched the OU-TX game with some Gators in the small RV lot across the street. Every school has them.
Only had two bad run-ins with fans. One a-hole literally crashed our tailgate and the other was a student in the stadium. The fan outside the stadium was classic "stereotype" gator. UF camo-hat, boots, ripped jeans and drunk. Several LSU fans were doing their best to be jerks too.
Losing to UF is hard when you live in Orlandeaux. I get to hear about it for the next 360 days. Lost the bet. Get to wear a Gator Jersey all day at work tomorrow.

He was a good sport last year. I'm going for double or nothing (two days) for the SEC championship game!

I'm in for the SECCG. God forbid, if needed send the jersey my way and we can each do one day....

Ok...well:
* Actually enjoyed the atmosphere and stadium. Sat in West stands (section 19) with only a handful of LSU fans and the UF fans were great for the most part. Tailgating not close to LSU.
* To the guys that pulled out the extention cord, plugged in a pump, and commenced to blowing up a tiger in the front of Hooters on Friday night...kudo's.
* Agree that the playmates at Gator City on Friday night were awesome and that the bars were expensive.
* After the game ran into two extreme jackasses that were confrontational. On both occasions, had other Gator fans come up and apologize. Guess thats what you can expect going out in your LSU garb after getting your asses kicked.
* Also met one of the Gator starting OL in front of Gator City after he asked me "what the hell are ya'll still doing here?" He was good natured- shook my hand and joked with me. He said "We took your linebackers and bent them over and....[prison sex reference]. FWIW he claimed that they blew off Arkansas and had been game planning & preparing for LSU for 2 weeks.
* The cops did suck...no need to elaborate.
* Lastly, the "Go Gators" cheer that ended with the fans chanting "come on gators, get up and go" has to take the cake in the gayest cheers catagory.
* Overall, I had fun and would go back.

what ever you do...dont eat at miraku, i was up at 5am with the runs and throwing up on game day...or maybe that had something to do with the vodka i drank, but im pretty sure it was the food

FL fans are the worst.... haha, okay they are pretty bad, and that's coming from one. I do often find myself in a student section filled with retarded drunks giving the UPD all they can handle.
But I would say a good deal of the fans I ran into were getting along okay. Hung out with some pretty nice Tigers over in front of a residence hall on west campus, there was a pretty sizable group of fans of both teams mingling and having a good time.
Ran into and had a pretty good conversation with the parents of Brett Helms over at the Chik-fil-a on east campus. didn't actually see any problems or situations until I got over to the lots where you have to pay to park. Lots of angry Tigers arguing with UPD about ridiculous things and retarded Gator alumns egging them on...

I don't like Miraku but I do love Yamato should try that if you're back in Gainesville again in the future.
