If anything he's very lucky he didn't get picked off 2/3 times yesterday.

who we thought he would be?

He was a back up for a terrible Purdue team that couldn't find the field.
Who exactly did you think he was going to be?
Combined with the lack of QB development at LSU.

I, along with many didn't expect him to be much, some didn't see him starting here, until Harris was exposed.
He's a bad to below average QB that shouldn't be starting in the SEC. But what else do we have?

There were some games last year where many around here thought our QB issues were finally solved, and our QB coaches were absolved of their sins.

Hard to handle it when it's in your face 2 seconds after the snap.
But it doesn't matter if he had a solid Oline, he still can't throw the out route, under throws deep routes and has problems with the touch pass.

He couldn't cut it at Purdue, now that's bad as it gets.

I've said it all along. He has guts, but cannot throw on the run, gets happy feet, not very accurate.

No pressure on the missed crossing route that should have been picked. Also he should have never thrown that to Sullivan. Should have been dumped off to Dwill.

bingo. had him in the flats wide open. looks like he does not know how to read from hi to low

He just doesn't have it against elite defenses.

but damn I can't believe how bad his accuracy is when he throws.

I agree his accuracy is suspect. Plus just once I'd like to see him drop a deep pass right in the hands of his receiver at full gallop. Also, that over thrown easy pass on that sure TD was painful to watch.

But he manages the game well and he's tough as hell. Absorbed some nasty hits on couple of his runs.

Bring on the Auburn Tigers. Two Tigers in a cage mauling each other. Should be one hell of a game. Love me some SEC football.

Lol it's been that way his whole career

I’m not defending his inaccuracies yesterday but you’re trying to hard to grasp at straws here. I’d like to see some of these HoF college coaches and SEC quarterbacks here on the rant QB under SEC game pressure. Any college game pressure for that matter and see how they’d react.

He's as innacurate of a passer that I've seen....and that includes JJ, Harris, and Jennings. That throw missing Williams just can't be tolerated. They scouted that, designed a okay, and it worked right up to the point where a 5th year senior is expected to hit a 25 yd pass.

We don't have great receivers like we're used to having. This is a mediocre unit at best

That is hilarious people saying that at this stage! He couldn't make it as the Purdue starter so he is magically going to be an SEC starter for LSU

Last year and this year Etling has had so many balls that should have been picked off but were dropped that it's just unbelievable.

We are an SEC team whose QBs seem to get worse with age and experience. What's the correct explanation for this?
