I only read the first 4 pages so if someone else said this don't bomb me. We could probably lower the ticket price at games if LSU would just get rid of Paul and poll Tiger Rant for player positions and pitcher rotation. Obviously he has seen these guys in action a time or two more than we have and has a better indication of what they can or cannot do. I know we are a hard group to please, just look back to last year before we went on a 23 game win streak. I think Paul is doing a good (not great) job, but would would be great? Per this board, undefeated all season with 500 HR's. if we end up two and done/toast flame away at Paul. But until then go back to "Smoking" you pig.

what the hell do yall see in him. He hits below .230

also fyi DJ has a better fielding %

Stat's aren't everything. For one, we hadn't turned a middle infield DP until they made the switch. Nola isn't a bad batter at all.

So do bunts which move the runner, which nola has done many times. And if you can't notice how well he has settled in over the past few weeks, you're shitting yourself.

1. He is a freshman batting against the best pitchers in college baseball.

2. If you actually watch his at bats, he battles back in nearly all of them, drawing walks, adding to the pitch count of the opposing pitcher, allowing for more opportunities for runners on base to advance.

3. If you watch his hits, he's hitting the ball hard and well. They were just going right to the defense. This happens in baseball.

4. If you watched him during the MSU series, that is the Austin Nola we will see on the team for the next 3 years.

i dont like this argument because if he cant hit them he shouldnt be playing

very good argument on thing i have against is that hits produce RBI's not walks

happens to everyone, just ask ochinko, but unlike ochinko he hasnt shown he can be a consistent hitter

2 good games dont make you a good hitter

overall you have provided the best points, the others just keep spewing about defense, very good arguments, so

(non-sarcastic)

There are lies, damn lies and stats. A player could bat 1,000, but if it is a single with two outs and the next batter strikes out every time; what does batting 1000 do for you, nothing. This is not intended to be a push for any particular player just a demonstration of what stats really mean. Some get too worried about stats and forget about the flow of a game. Just the opposite a player could bat 0.00 but every time up to bat gets a sac fly. The 0.00 guy obviously can't hit he's 0.0 but has plenty of RBI's, but the other guy has no RBI's but is batting 1.00. Which one do you want on you team?????

Consistent hitters get hits once every few at bats, and don't go into month long slumps. Guys like Hanover and Lemahieu are examples of that. Not ochinko.
