Hymel, Lanier and Cresse were all solid. I do believe Gibbs will wind up at the top due to his all around game and he will be the best pro IMO.

ryan jorgenson was a very good defensive catcher as well, and he actually made the major leagues unlike cresse and hymel. i think gibbs is better than all of them

Yeah, Lanier was a top-notch defensive catcher. But he was a black hole offensively. Lanier's LSU's best defensive catcher of my lifetime though.

Cresse didn't play with the -5, I believe they used the -3's in 2000

that was his last year as I recall. didn't he play in 1997?

I think it was 1999 when they outlawed the -5 bats. I know for sure that in 1997 and 1998 the -5 bats were used.

If Gibbs keeps it up for the entire year, yes, but he needs to keep it up

Much better than that bum Liuzza. However I would have loved to see what Brandon Snyder could have done (at any position) had he made it to campus.

Tim Linier made so many pitchers great with his ability to snag a 2 strike curve in the dirt with a runner on third - which Skip will tell you is his favorite pitch in College Baseball.
