OK but money is the reason he'd leave what HE built? He is Skip there.

This is the move LSU leaves Bianco at Ole Piss so that keeps them from getting better and we hire Tony V!

Yeah, if Corbin leaves it won't be strictly for money.
There has to be some compelling reason why he's ready to move on.

Y'all acting like he can't win just as many titles at Vandy.

We have seen time and time again that you can get to Omaha on the reg at many SEC schools that weren't considered baseball schools 20 years ago.

College baseball is not college football and doesn't have the same "barriers to entry" when it comes to building a top notch program.

That’s my guess as for the one in the CWS

I never really considered any west coast guys, but I wouldn’t be upset with Johnson.

Not saying I’d be unhappy with Johnson as the choice, but ..

Year1: 49 wins (CWS runner-up)
Year2: 38 wins (NCAA regional)
Year3: 34 wins (didn’t make tourney)
Year4: 32 wins (didn’t make tourney)
Year5: Covid
Year6: This year: back to CWS

First 4 years at Zona were definitely a downward trajectory, which is concerning for me. I’d prefer to see a coach’s 1st/2nd year be the worst and getting better from there forward.

IMO we have better options than Johnson

What makes his resume that much better than Godwin's? 2 CWS appearances at a real school? If you're not getting a Corbin or a Sully I don't see why you don't go with a guy like Godwin who has been around the block in the SEC.

I don’t know that anyone is making that claim. I would be happy with either.

In what world is this resume acceptable?

Its a little concerning, but his floor is still over 30 wins...at arizona, not exactly a destination.

He can get his guys to slug, just got to work on pitching

He may do great at LSU, but if he had those same first four years at LSU, he would probably be fired after 4 years after missing the tourney in his final 2 seasons.

I didn't mean to say that ya'll are. It just makes me wonder why LSU has seemingly put Godwin on the back burner if Johnson is "their guy".

I’m definitely not saying that it’s him. I have been told they are focusing on 4 coaches. Two are obvious as to who they are
