I didn't write the checks, Lane did. He didn't have to tell us how people were blowing up his phone to play in his system. Again, I am not melting like we won't ever win. But this has been different than expected thus far.

Being totally honest with you here. I didn’t give one second’s thought to what I expect from Lane/LSU when the portal window opens. Not at all.
So much has changed in CFP in the last 3-4 years, I don’t believe anybody can say what is/is not “good” in recruiting anymore. It’s a literal free for all.
Again - you sound a little too worried about all this right now.

Sorsby signed w/ TT for 5.1mill $, I know it takes $ nowadays but, our OC, Passing Game Coor, & WRs Coach(2) don’t make that combined.

We certainly swung and missed on Brendan Sorsby. But even if LSU had the most money (LSU doesn't), that doesn't mean that LSU can get everyone they want. Sorsby cost more than Kiffin wanted to pay. It's not the end of the world.

Kiffin's 2024 portal class was the top ranked in the country.
The class last year was not ranked as high but they did better on the field, largely due to a little known QB that only got to play due to the starter being injured.

Portal has been open all of 3 days and people are already "disappointed." Geez. Trust the system.
PS, look at the 2025 portal ratings. CLK dwarfed the top 8 rated schools in volume. Look for the same this year.

People making you sound like you’re dumb but in reality i feel the same just because it SEEMS as an opinion that everything was predicated on OM losing . In my own opinion i felt lane only left case he figured they would lose to Georgia and or Ohio state . Changed the whole landscape of the portal . Portal guys wanna come into to complete an already solid plan not just be arse with money . Like what QB is really tangible left? Our schedule is brutal next year . So idk I’m with you

Yes it would be nice to get every player you contact but these are kids (many spoiled kids) we are recruiting and their wish list has $$$ on it. Every big time player will create a bidding war and the players will all get divided out. I guess that’s what th NCAA wants.
Hopefully someone or some organization takes over for NCAA and provides a few rules and guidelines moving forward.
