so wise arse who cost lsu the game friday night
A combination of Matty Ott pitching, Austin Nola pitching, ONE questionable coaching call, and bad batting from the top of our line up

You don't pull Dozer with how he's played the last week. He's stepped up at the plate and defensively, with exception of today
I want Edward. Let's agree to disagree. Dozar was supposed to be the guy. He was given a shot last year, but the three stooges playing 3rd base (Dozar, Dillatte, and Diddier) couldn't do anything to make the other two the clear second and third place finishers. Finally, Edward comes in and we start getting better (he was one of three or four to come in and help).
I must ask this because I still haven't figured it out or been given the explaination...what was PM"s reasoning for bringing in Dozar over Edward?

Supposedly Edward was ill at the beginning of the Friday game.

I'm not sure either way. Dozar looked solid this weekend.
But Edward was the guy last year and he did a fine job.

essentially the change was made against CSF and going 1/4 against Nichols probably didn't win the position back. Just assuming though

Would you keep Edward in over Dozar?
Yeah, I would. Others disagree perhaps. I would at least platoon,

Edward just looks better all around

This, and maybe start Edward a few times against righties.

wouldn't be surprised, i'm not happy with Dozar at the plate, but he brings good defense.

Bench Watkins.....he brings nothing to the table but speed.
I'm not being sarcastic either.

This bitter pill is very difficult to swallow. Getting swept at home makes it difficult to think we will win the SEC this year. Not impossible, just maybe unlikely.
The LSU baseball program has won 6 National Championships during the past 19 years. No other program has done that during the past two decades. There will be hard pills to swallow but there will be good times ahead too. The celebrations at the Box are only possible if we know the dissapointments of defeat too. This weekend, we lost to a better team. The UF program has never won a NC in baseball. This year might be their year. LSU tigers are only 21 months removed from a NC themselves. Can't win everygame or every series.
Paul Maineri is the best coach for this program. Don't jump on firing him for this series or the next. You don't win a championship in a day or over a weekend. You win championships by doing the right things, the right way, with the right players and the proper teachings over the many years of playing. Our wins will come and we will return to Omaha again soon..perhaps this year. Focus on the next game and do your best ! No one should be ashamed of our Tigers and no one will disrespect us. We will win again. It all evens out in due time.

Good points, all (but the guy who wants PM fired). I think either Dozar/Edward or watkins is about to lose a job to Lowery...and that may be indirectly as the lineup should shift if the latter replacement occurs.

PiscesTiger, i've put on my positiger glasses now.
Kurt McCune and Kevin Gausman look to be big time. We're going to have a chance to win every series with them going 1 and 2. Hopefully they can avoid that freshman wall in late April. Ben Alsup was bad today, but I have faith in him to bounce back strong. Maybe Tyler Jones moves into the rotation, maybe not, we'll see. I love Ryan Eades and Kevin Berry in middle relief. I think guys like Jimmy Dykstra, Sam Peterson, and Joe Broussard can help too.
Ty Ross took an enormous step forward this weekend. He looks to be rounding into a hell of a player. We can steal bases almost at will.
Some guys need to tighten up, some guys maybe need to ride the pine for a game or 2, but I like this team. We got brought back down to earth this weekend vs. the clear cut #1. This team is better than I thought it would be, this team is a top 5 team nationally, this team is on track for an Omaha appearance.

I think DBG is right on the money. Better than I thought they would be but not as good as UF.
