Butthurt Pulmonary sycophants are still pissed he's gone. F'ing amazing. He conned LSU into an over-inflated contract, then sat back and counted his money, doing little else, minus the boohoo fits in the dugout.

I'll give you an upvote.

He got us a natty and a national runner up... that would have been a second natty if injuries don't strike our rotation.

He somehow got last year's team into a super.

Paul's health prevented him from coaching at a high level. I hope he is taking care of himself and can throw a nice strike tomorrow night.

His time may have been up but I'm glad he was our coach.

I agree.

I guess I'm one of the 5 people who upvoted the OP. I thought it was serious and I agree.

I'm incredibly excited about the future of LSU Baseball but it's also okay to appreciate Coach Mainieri. I'm hoping to get to the Box early enough tomorrow to see him throw in the first pitch.

Time to move on, new era. I am very excited to see Coach Jay Johnson and the team he develops competing on the diamond.

This is actually hilarious! There is no gray area on this topic as some fans are getting misty-eyed on no more Pawl while others (my area) give 2 shits on not seeing Truman Capote in the dugout this year!

Will Paul’s 30 year old married son still be sitting in the dug out like a bat boy?

How many of us would sit in the dug out and enjoy the game from that point of view? I know I would

The Les Miles of LSU baseball. All though he didn't win a Natty with Saban recruits.

Maybe his last game, but not every game for 16 years. There’s one thing having your young sons in the dugout, but when they’re 5-10 years older than the players…nah.

He hasn't posted since last March. I know his name IRL and I have not seen any obituary information. Something is up, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that he is no longer with us.
