One I remember simply because of Michael Brooks slam dunking Arizona's QB late in the game was the LSU-Arizona game in ???, around the mid 90's. I've forgotten.
Try 1984:

Came in this thread to post this. "Pigs Fly Game."
I'll also add #10 LSU beating #9 Miami 40-3 in the '05 Peach Bowl. That game seemed to mark the end of the 'Canes swagger that started in the 80's.

Our defense simply wasn't good.
No, the 2002 defense was actually very good until Damien James quit the team right before the Auburn game. With Matt Mauck out, LaBrandon Toefield out, and Damien James quitting the 2002 season was a big cluster frick.
My vote is the 2000 Mississippi State game.

76 vs Nebraska. 6 to 6. They were number 1.
Listened to this on radio. I think LSU barely missed the winning FG

Been to many games in Tiger Stadium- The 79 game with USC is one of the greatest i've ever seen- even though we lost.
I was there as well, totally agree with you...

82' or 83'vs Florida St and Bobby Bowen. Announced before game winner goes to Orange Bowl to play a great Nebraska team. Tiger fans were crazy this night. Fog rolling in, penalties on crowd for throwing oranges. It was unreal. Never forget that night

The LSU Troy 2008 game. LSU was losing 31-3 with under 2 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. LSU scores 37 unanswered points in little over a quarter. One of the greatest comebacks in college football history and nobody saw it.

LSU team voted not to go bowling that year. Can you imagine Today ?
I thought they didn't play Texas because Cotton bowl dropped them after bowl invitations were sent out?

1961 ole miss vs LSU. Minnesota had lost earlier in the day which made ole miss the defacto number 1 team since they were #2 in the polls. Lsu scores late to win 10to7. Great night game with national implications.

'79 USC game
--absolutely NOT a "forgotten game"
however, 9/24/83, 9th ranked Washington Huskies shellacked by LSU 40-14 in Tiger stadium.
And we ended up 4-7 under Stovall.

Oldie but goodie LSU v Florida St --- Nov 1982 - the Night it Rained Oranges!!! Dalton James gang went wild. Risher was on fire and Eric Martin was catching balls like a fly trap!

2006 Arizona- Perhaps the most complete domination in all phases of the game I've ever seen a Tiger team put together. Holy hell I actually felt kind of sorry for those Zona kids
It was an amazing demolition. 2007 VT is the only other game I've seen LSU dominate a Div 1 team so thoroughly.

Heartbreaker as a Bulldog alum. State had destroyed spurrier and Florida the day lsu played Tennessee. I listened to the lsu game as I drove back to NOLA from Starkville. Constant roar. I knew MSU would be in a battle and the game didn't disappoint. Loudest game I've attended.

I was at the classic 21-20 win over Auburn in 1969. What a game, as you mentioned.
But another great one was one of the Tigers' best ever performances, a 61-17 thrashing of the Ole Miss Rebels in December of 1970. This was the game in which Archie Manning probably should not have played, but did, suffering a broken wrist a few weeks earlier and resulting in a heavily wrapped arm.
LSU not only avenged two years of very close losses to the Rebels, but clinched an Orange Bowl berth with that impressive victory in one of their first night games to be nationally televised.

If I'm not mistaken, we set a Tiger Stadium attendance record at that game with somewhere around 83,000 in the stands. Official capacity was just over 76,000

Correct score was 17-13, their headline is wrong SMH

2007 South Carolina
Ohh-wii-ooh gets the first half of story of why it got banned (We tacked "Cocks" on to the "You Suck" portion of the song).
A torrential downpour at halftime that sent a lot of the bandwagon fans beneath the bleachers.
The clutch Fake FG that clinches the game.

80% of the games mentioned in this thread are iconic, not forgotten.
I will go with 2004 Oregon St. we did not play particularly well but it was pretty fun getting drenched in the weather delay, coming back out, and watching Serna miss 4 FGs.

2001 vs. Auburn
-Last game of the season because of a reschedule due to 9/11
-Revenge for the 1999 cigar incident
-Auburn players stomp on the eye at midfield during pregame and get an unsportsmanlike penalty that sets us up for a successful onside kick to start the game
- Above mentioned onside kick is recovered 3 feet in front of Tuberville
- A tuba player from TGBFTL wins a physical altercation with auburn's kicker at halftime
- Victory sends us to ATL where we alter the trajectory of UT's entire football program
