Probably because you have a distorted view of college basketball. That’s not an attack it’s just that normie fans tend to view CBB through the lens of college football. For example Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson are no brainer HOF/elite coaches for the past 25-30 years yet neither has won a title. It took Jim Boeheim 27 years to win one and that’s his only one. It took Roy Williams, who ended with 3, 18-19 years to win one even though he was loaded with #1 seeds the entire time. Getting to the tourney every year is the goal, once your coach can do that his better teams can make runs. That’s the standard in college basketball. It’s not football.

Agreed. It’s tourney almost every year or get fired. Thats life in the big conferences.

Whether we like CMM or not, whether he had a bad hand or is a terrible coach / recruiter / program builder / money shaker, doesn’t really matter.

You gotta make the tourney. No excuses.

Dude.

The standard "LSU fans" have for MBB is ridiculous and doesn't live in reality. They think NC runs are easy, while in truth it's the most difficult title to win due to format and competition.

I’ve been watching LSU Basketball since 1981

I’ve never said WW was horrible or anything but he’s not worth the adoration, it’s just an opinion

Didn't we lose to Piggy by 29 at home less than a month ago?

It’s the reason Brady was fired. We saw he had a high ceiling but you can’t run off rosters full of NBA players which caused gaps in tourney appearances and survive. The program needs momentum, look at Florida, UConn etc… those programs can go the next 5-10 years without a title and as long as they’re in every year they’re going to be fine. Coach Ks titles didn’t all come in a short time, he had decades between some of them. 91-92 then 01, then 2010 then 15. He retired after another near decade of no titles but nobody was saying “fire coach K” because he was in every year and making runs every so often.
