I can't imagine what it's like to lose a child, but Sid has had such an impact on so many people, so I can only hope that Sid's family can find some amount of peace in that.
Many people think that college football is all about wins and losses and, while it's exceedingly important, it should not be how coaches, universities, or fanbases are ultimately measured.
Sid's story has shown us the importance of having a coach like Les Miles, who not only coaches some of the best college football players in the country into some of the best professional athletes in the country, he also teaches these same athletes how to become men...good men.
So many things are more important than college football. On Saturdays during the Fall, especially here in the South...that sometimes gets lost. And then stories like Sid come along that bring you back to reality, but through the love of football. While I hate that Sid and his family had to go through this, his story reminds us all how much of an impact we can have on not only the people on our street, but the rest of the country, by simply coming together as humans and flying certain colored balloons as a show of support for someone.
RIP, Sid.

"You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Ps. 16:11
Sid, peace and happiness forever, and wonderful things beyond imagination. I have been blessed just knowing about you.

Just heard about this so I thought I'd visit the Tiger Rant and offer my condolences from a WVU fan.
Les Miles is a class act and a great man for the way he handled this, you guys have a great program to be proud of.
