He is one of the few hitters that has shown the ability to "go with the pitch." He is consistent and does not strike out much. I'm obviously not the coach but that is my guess.

LSU is less than a mediocre team against lefties. If I were an opposing coach I would have my right handers throw left handed against us. They could throw it underhanded as long as they threw it with their left hand.

And its not great or even good left handers shutting this team down. The freaking Harvard left hander shut us down for the most part.

maybe if we see another lefty in the tourney.we should maybe bench some lefties and hit more righties.josh your right though this is the tourney to get that practice.

Yeah, it just seems the order is always changing, this seems like the time of the year when everything should be set. And Mahtook is right handed and has been a great lead-off batter.

Yeah, Schimpf looked pretty bad tonite and Mitchell????? He's been horrible against lefties for most of the season. He should be benched against lefties. Breaking pitches from lefties make him look soooo bad. He should be bunting more against lefties if he is in the lineup, because of his speed. Dean didn't have any hits, but hit 2 balls pretty hard. I hope we can correct this at least somewhat before the regionals.

The righties aren't hitting left-handers either...

I disagree with the championship years had this problem: Cresse absolutely DESTROYED lhp's, and it has never been this bad...14-13 vs LHP's

Wow. There is a thought. I was flamed a couple of weeks ago for saying that Mitchell is a huge freakin liability against left handers. He constantly strikes out and this really hurts us bad. All that speed is totally useless when you are walking back to the bench. We have too many left handed batters and Mainieri should platoon someone to get some right handers in the lineup.

I think we should put more right handed bats in the lineup against lefties. It couldn't be any worse. Let Buzzy DH, put either pontiff or helenihi in right field in place of Mitchell.
