OUTPLAYED LSU the last time they played!!
They played with LSU for 3 qtrs. I stayed the entire game and remember leaving the game thinking that Appy St. could finish ahead of both Ole Miss and MSU in the West that year (and probably ahead of Vandy and maybe Kentucky in the East in '05).
Also, Appy St. started pulling their starters before LSU in the 4th. It made sense b/c it was November and they had the playoffs coming up, once the game was out of hand (midway in the 4th) they pulled starters.

They ain't gonna talk about that. It is irrelevant to the point at hand. They are worse than rantards.

When are they going to force this idiot to retire? And why does he have such a grudge against LSU?
Oh I don't know. It seems like every year the grudge gets bigger with him...
It might be because LSU whooped that arse when he was coaching S. Carolina in 2003.
Maybe he just hates all teams that has a Tiger for a mascot. In 2004 his team had gotten into a brawl with the Clemson Tigers which ruined the mood of announcing of his 2nd retirement and to top it off he gets his but whipped 29-7.
And then theres the embarrassment of his beloved Notre Dame a couple of years ago.. All that talk about Notre Dame coming in the Super Dome to give LSU a good old fashion butt whipping.

That's not what he told me. One day I got to visit with him in the Dallas airport and I told him I was from the BR area. He started talking about the great fan base & gameday atomosphere LSU has and he got excited really excited when talking about LSU. He was going back to USC after roasting Coach Charlie M. in Houston. Anyway I said, I wish I had a camera to get a picture with my favorite college coach. Coach H. went into a store at the airport and bought a throw away camera for me. I have that picture along with the my business card that he autographed above my desk in my office right next to NS and LM holding USC's, I mean BCSMNC, balls. He was and I assume is still to this day a very nice person. So the way I see Coach H. is in the same way that I saw Sam King. Sam King used a fake name to write for the DSNews years ago when I was in high school and would always disrespect the DSHS teams. This would then be used as BB material to fire us up and it worked most of the time. Coach H. knows LSU plays better when in the underdog role or feels disrespected. At least that is what I believe and why I don't get mad when he does not pick LSU to win.
So flame away because, "That's all I'm going to say about it."

Lets not forget the two drop TD passes in the endzone on two different series.

I glanced back at the box score, mainly to check attendance for another thread..
Appy didn't play badly (statistically). They outrushed LSU slightly (on 4 more carries). Another tidbit - no turnovers. Appy had two fumbles but recovered both, and there were no interceptions on 44 combined passes by both teams. Appy did punt 7 times ( and LSU 4 times), but each side only gave up 1 sack. Appy did commit 7 penalties to LSU's 2.
It was a relatively efficient game by both sides, Appy just couldn't score.
Further, to put it in perspective (it wasn't that long ago), LSU started these players:
POS ## OFFENSE
X 9 Early Doucet
LT 76 Andrew Whitworth
LG 68 Terrell McGill
C 64 Rudy Niswanger
RG 71 Nate Livings
RT 75 Brian Johnson
TE 89 Keith Zinger
Z 3 Craig Davis
QB 4 JaMarcus Russell
RB 10 Joseph Addai
FB 44 Kevin Steltz
POS ## DEFENSE
LE 90 Melvin Oliver
LT 98 Claude Wroten
RT 95 Kyle Williams
RE 94 Chase Pittman
MIKE 46 Cameron Vaughn
WILL 7 Ali Highsmith
LCB 8 Ronnie Prude
RCB 37 Daniel Francis
SS 16 Craig Steltz
FS 30 LaRon Landry
N 19 Jonathan Zenon
How many of those guys DIDN'T either get drafted or sign UFA contracts with an NFL team?

You should put that pic with "Coach H" up as your avatar. Rantards will love it!
I was at that game too. I thought it was a typical LSU playing down to the competition game at first. Then, I realized that Appy was playing with some confidence and making plays. They wanted it and LSU was just playing the game.
LSU's depth, I thought, won the game.
APPY played out of the box for a while and almost made some really big TD's.
BUT.. They never "outplayed" LSU. They gave LSU problems and played hard, but NEVER outplayed.
