$250 for the season to park within a short walk to the stadium is not a bad deal. Especially since someone else has to clean up the massive amounts of crap that is left behind.
That is price gouging pure and simple. Get prisoners to clean up campus.

Think we are paying that much for prison labor?
It's 40K per season split over two prisons.

Season, that also includes special cleanings

This. Something more like $10, or $20 for trailers or certain premium spots would have been met with less fuss. Plus, no opportunity to get a season pass (which could have been discounted) and not really having a decent plan for disbursing said passes. And no one has answered how they are going to account for the minimum wage pass sellers not pocketing the coin.
We just kicked in and helped pay for the leader of our crew to park and bring all our crap, we will continue to park for free. The money grab sickens me. Heaven forbid we ever return to the dark days, but for those of us going out when they were begging us to, screwing us now that they are selling a "hot" product doesn't sit well.
This is the University doing this, not the athletic department. I have no problem with them doing this during budget problems.
You do know that all the students who pay tution have to pay to park, and they have to move their cars before gameday so you can come park. The spots they pay for all semester are not open to them on gameday. So quit your bitching.

Agreed, Magic.
Per always, this thread is overflowing with stupid.

Bitching about $40 to park = Not OT baller

So you think it should cost $240 + TAF fees, hotel, food, and gas for a family of 4 to go watch a Northwestern State game? Then they black it out if you live in Louisiana so you have to pay for PPV to watch the game. Yeah...clearly not price gouging...

Hi JJ27,
Welcome to Earth, 2011. We're so glad to have you.
Take a look around big time college football-- LSU is STILL a bargain.
You want national championships, I presume? They aren't free.

1) You don't have to go to the game.
3) PPV is cheaper than the $240 you are complaining about. Pick one or the other, or just listen on the radio for free.
Your argument is not valid. It is not price-gouging as that is the cost to attend a game. Price gouging would be raising the price on a game-to-game basis. Say ten dollars for NSU, but then 100 dollars for Auburn.
LSU does not care about your hotel, food, or gas prices. They do not see that money and therefore could care less how much it costs.

Given how much of my money goes to LSU every year, I am surprised how I missed this point from the thread picking on the "fratsters."
And I pay a shitload of money, so if they walk over and don't pay to park, oh well.
And after all, the university is for the students right?

you poor people had better not mess up the drive for those of us with parking passes.

Oh trust me I'm not. It's ridiculous and I refuse to do so. I'll be at all of the SEC games though.

A point that seems to evade a lot of LSU fans.

So will people just leave all of their garbage out now since they've paid for clean up? Yeah some were not cleaning up before, but a good bit were. Will the fee lead to people feel as though they don't have to worry with their trash since they've paid LSU to clean it up?

Nah. The ones with manners and respect for their school will still clean up. The others never would anyway.

TBH, I don't see how it can get any worse.

That gives them the right to trash it? If anything, they should have a little pride-even animals don't crap where they sleep. And FYI, I pay tuition in addition to paying through the nose for the privilege of watching games. My kids aren't perfect, but they certainly don't think it's cool or funny to turn full trash cans upside down and kick garbage around like I have regularly watched the frat boys do. Look for the couches on the Parade Grounds-that is one of the usual epicenters for the swine gathering.

I bought an overnight pass, parked in a lot across from the Tureaud Hall and left my car overnight, I'll be heading out when my gsm gets in from eunice and they are parking in hay field and bringing their supplies
