He got on base at least twice in every game last week. Why do you hate getting on base?

.214 , .310 , .298. Let these averages sink in a bit. All worst among starters.

It's early and he started 1 for 23. Which means you're still using a stale argument. He was 8 for 19 last week with 6 RBI.

Well when your 12 games in and you started out in a slump it’s hard to have good numbers. His last week has been pretty good though so hopefully he can keep it up.

There are also 4 every day players striking out at a higher rate than Slaughter. He's not hit into a double play. And he's fielding his position.

He's had around 250 AB's in his career. I wont ruin this thread about Labas though. He looks very promising. Excited to see more of him

He was a true freshman last season...and he's not quite at 250 AB right now

148 AB last season and 42 this season. Maybe you meant plate appearances, which is still wrong, but closer.

If he meant plate appearances, he should have said that. It's not easy to take someone seriously when they don't know the difference between the two and are just pulling numbers out of their arse.

Every number I've posted has been a fact. I was off on the AB's but my point still stands.

Tyler Moore hit .261/.327/.381 as a freshman
Jake was at .257/.358/.351 as a freshman

I think Moore turned out ok.

Not sure how you can judge a freshman so harshly. Not every freshman comes in he hitting .300/.400/.500.

Jake seemed to find things pretty well last week, might want to let him play out the next few weeks before completely giving up on him.

You were off by 60 ABs. You were off by more ABs than any player on the team has so far this season. You were essentially off by a quarter of a season. So no, not every number you posted was a fact.

You didn't make a point. You said his average, slg, and OBP are the lowest among starters. That's not a point, that's showcasing the ability to read a list of names sorted by batting average. Congrats on the ability to recognize letters and numbers, I guess.

Stats are only numbers without context. We are trying to add context here. We are 11 games in. Slaughter struggled the first 6 so he's way behind the others. If we take the last 5, he's 0.421/0.476/0.578

That's because you can't comprehend well. The point was he has more than enough AB's in his career to show he's capable of having productive AB'S and not at the bottom in every major offensive category again. Whether or not I was off on the AB's or not 200 is a lot but I'll wait a few more series before I say anything else

There's no way anyone would have understood this to be the point you were trying to make.

Problem is you have to sustain a certain level of consistency throughout the year. I'm just skeptical he can do that that's all.

But you inflated the number of ABs. By a quarter of a season's worth of ABs.

In either case though, your point assumes that players don't develop. And earlier in the thread you shite on two examples of players who did, in fact, develop.

One of which had a lackluster sophomore year before hitting 23 HRs his junior year. And one of which was also a draft eligible sophomore like Slaughter.

I responded to the poster that said its only been 12 games and I posted his number of career AB's to show it's been more and Slaughter has basically picked up where he left off last year.

You can't figure that out ?
