As long as you don't participate in more than 4 games, including bowl games, you can redshirt. As far as plays go, if you step on the field for just one play, that counts as participating.

Not that big a deal there, it's not like Burrow is a senior and you have to get the next guy ready for next year. We basically have to just be smart and hope Burrow doesn't get hurt, and there will be games later (Rice comes to mind) that you give him a few series, if you want.

Needs to play as much NOW for preparation if Sunshine goes down. Would still have 2 years left after this year with one guaranteed year as starting QB after Joe is gone
