I think Ridley has turned into a hell of a back,

Scott couldn't see the field as well as ridley can. He ran tough but he had to he did not follow blocks very well. Further I'm not convinced that he was a "step faster".

I don't think they are similar at all.

IMO if scott would have lost about 10 lbs he would have been a much better back. he seemed a bit over weight

From reading this thread you'd swear 2008 was a decade ago, I'd take Chuck Scott each and every day over Ridley.

His legend was tainted by the worst OL in LSU history.

especially coming from Single A Trinity Episcopal. He must have terrorized those 180 pound D-linemen back in the day.
Or this 165lb safety 4 years ago. I, as well as several others, been preaching about his quick feet, amazing vision, and hard-nosed running since 2008. Apparently, because I was small and white, his runs weren't impressive, but finally people are starting to realize his ability. He made me look like a fool, and while I wasn't a pro, I am willing to bet he would've made any other LHSAA player look just as bad as he made me, or an SEC linebacker, look. There are still a lot of people who don't realize how good he is, and I'm fully expecting even more to jump on the Ridley bandwagon from the "he is slow, recruited as a fullback, played small whiteboys, go Ford" bandwagon.

Only in '09. That '08 OL was pretty good.

He nearly was based on 08 alone.

I think they're two different types of backs. Scott is more of an i-formation, downhill back and while i initially thought ridley would be similar, he has proven to be a very, very good spread back. The plays ridley makes out of the zone reads i'm not so sure Scott could have done as easily. Scott was one hell of a rb during his time here, and would still be today. I just think they fit different schemes

Stevan is a true tailback. Better than Scott in every way.

I concur. I couldn't stand watching Charles Scott run. His average rush would be him putting his head down and running directly into an offensive lineman.

imo Scott was better....he had no blocking last year and ran the same 2 or three plays all the frickn time (OC)...its bad when you can listen to the radio and know what play they gonna run.

both are powerful backs that can deceive you with a move, that TD run against Tenn was all Ridley powering it in, he got no help from the line!

I love Ridley, but Scott was very similar and a step faster, iirc.
I hope you aren't serious.
