My wife said she heard that if this storm is heading for New Orleans, contraflow could be put into effect on Friday night. If that's true, then there's definitely no game Saturday.

Apparently Rantards believe the game will only be affected if Gustav is taking a dump on Tiger Stadium between 4:00 and 7:00 this Saturday.

The way I see it as I use my handy dandy Microsoft Paint. If on Saturday morning to afternoon if the storm is anywhere in that green box AND its a hurricane still AND its projected path looks very similar to what I have in black, then I think voluntary evacuations will be started Saturday afternoon. How does a voluntary evacuation order affect LSU's game? Usually the contraflow on I-10 does not take effect until a Mandatory evacuation is called. So the interstates would be OK, but you could imagine the people evacuating on the road anyway.

I know we have no idea if it will stay on this path. But IF it is sitting somewhere near this position on Sunday, don't you think evacs would have already started? Or do you think Jindal will just tell everyone to wait until the game is over?

Apparently the Gulf is very warm right now, which isn't a good thing.

I have heard that best case scenario this thing make a sharp turn and hits South Texas. I have heard that the probability of that happening is low.

Oh yeah and I also heard that the projected landfall is anywhere between Sunday and Tuesday, so that gives you an idea of how inaccurate these prediction models are when the storm is still so far away...

It's a damn lie, so quit spreading it around. Stop spreading rumors.

Saturday's game will go on as scheduled.
