Our starting third baseman always has the lowest fielding percentage of the infielders. This isn't new.

You really pretending like he played a good 3B?

With the same amount of at bats, that would have been 8 more hits on the season. You don't think he could improve to get one additional hit pretty much every other week?
Sure, it's possible
Unlikely
But possible. I personally think Slaughter is a decent player but we'll have better options in '19.
No knock on JS

He's a 2 tool player with the potential to develop a 3rd. If he can cut down on the throwing errors he's got a chance to make it.

He was much closer to Josh Smith than he was to Mikey Hollander, from an eye ball standpoint.
His range was really very good. He fielded a ton balls that other guys couldn't get to.
He had a very strong arm.
He had the throwing accuracy Jordan Jefferson outside of the pocket. JT Snow couldn't have saved him from some of the throwing errors he had.
ETA: But my point wasn't about how good or bad he was in a vacuum. It was in response to him having the lowest fielding pct of all the infielders, but that's our 3rd baseman every year. It's not unique to Slaughter.

Slaughter's errors were mostly throwing as well. That's something that can be fixed.

I would agree with that, he made some nice plays but that doesn’t excuse the routine plays he botched which were abundant
