quote:Ironically the newest rule change was because of UCLA and USC. USC wanted to wear the home jersey against UCLA as per their tradition. They did it one game and were charged a time out per half. UCLA then immediately took a timeout so both teams would only have 2. The NCAA then changed the rules to contrasting colors.
But can UCLA makes us wear purple. Is it still visiting team choice ala Oregon state. They did it to make us wear them during the day. But it rained 120”
To wear white they have to have the agreement in writing before the season. Or the conference can allow it for conference games.
I’m guessing that it was part of the contract we signed with UCLA, but BK has kind of done his own thing so it wouldn’t surprise me if we are in purple - especially since it isn’t an actual LSU policy/rule and just more something we have done.

LSU's default for all non-conference games at home are the colored jerseys. If they desire to wear white at home for these games they need written approval from the opposing team prior to the start of the season. Oregon State in 2004 is to my knowledge the only non-conference team since 1995 to refuse LSU the option to wear home whites.

Seems like every time we wear purple, it’s a lethargic game against a directional school.

This is actually LSU's third non-conference home game, as LSU was the designated "home team" vs USC in Vegas

I would bet the traditional white since UCLA has classic uniforms.

UCLA's road unis are classic too-- they're quite similar to LSU's gold-white-gold

I hope we are prepared and play disciplined football with some sort of physicality.

Let them lose in their sissy blue

We should only wear gold/white/gold for EVERY GAME unless we are forced to wear something else by the opponent. PERIOD. End of discussion!!!!!
However, and I can't believe most "LSU fans" don't know this, the unofficial policy for home games adopted by LSU is this:
Every SEC opponent is white.
Every power 4 opponent is white.
The first non conference opponent is white.
Any following non conference opponents (non power 4) are purple.
This has been the policy for at least the last 15 years.

It’s been the “policy” since saban’s first season
But has been broken several times in recent years.

I love the old gold with white pants.

The stripes on the shoulder are known as UCLA stripes.

UCLA usually wears gold helmets, light blue jerseys and gold pants, so I’m sure we wear some white ensemble that will offset them…all white would be cool.

quote:UCLA is the originator of the vertical shoulder stripes, aka "UCLA Shoulder Inserts."
But UCLA is a named/national team so we would typically wear white
LSU and UCLA are the most well known teams wearing jerseys with vertical shoulder stripes, so this will be a somewhat special uniform game. .
We need the Bruins in here wearing their "Sissy Blue" tops and the Tigers in their traditional uniforms. Hex Code #FFEF00 helmets--White Jersey's-Hex Code #FFEF00 pants.
Pull out the Canary Yellow-Purple-Canary Yellow for South Alabama.

hot S Alabama team
We now define a team as hot with a 1-2 record with losses to N Texas and Ohio?

I hope we wear victory on Saturday afternoon. Other than that, I don’t care.

Fixed it for you. "Sissy" blue is what Ole Miss wears

There's another possibility: both teams could wear their colors for this game-- contrasting colors
