I don’t believe this. Both men just did the best they could. Les had the misfortune of having to beat peak Saban. Nobody else was beating Saban either, and Saban was gifted a mulligan. If Les wins 2011 then we view him differently.
O caught lightning with 2019 but he was never going to sustain that. Covid and politics made things even more difficult.

We did die by one of our own. By the time they cut O loose we had 30 players on scholarship and the recruitment pipeline was damaged. LSU football was fricked.

he once claimed to have not even interviewed Matt Canada for OC when he hired him and didn't like the offense he ran. Hired him because other schools wanted him.
Woody was not employed here back then.
