and yet he made less mistakes than flynn...
That is possible, but you wouldn't know that unless you critiqued the game tapes and knew which plays were called and how they were executed. Did you have that information?
If not you are just BSing.
Do you remember in the national championship game when TH was supposed to take the hand off and instead went wide leaving Flynn with the ball?
Do you remember the lone interception that Flynn threw in the National Championship game? Flynn threw to the spot and the freshman receiver broke the wrong way.
Flynn had inexperienced receivers for most of the year so we don't know how many of those mistakes that we as fans saw were actually the receivers fault. Only the coaches know for sure.

If Flynn had the 2006 Wide Receivers that JR had, LSU would not have lost a game in 2007. Not that it mattered anyway.
Or perhaps if he had as good a defense to back him up like JR did.
Or perhaps if some of our backs who have/had quick strike capability wouldn't have been benched after scoring a TD.

I agree that qb is more than about stats. It's about having a "presence" and the ability to do whatever needs to be done to lead the team to score more than the other team. It's about having confidence. That is why I think Jefferson is our guy, because he does these things better than Lee, while he is a year behind Lee in his development. Now I hope that Lee does get better and go on to be the number 1 draft pick like Stafford since he DID have better stats in his freshman year.
However, from what I have seen from the two so far, I like JJ under center for my Tigers more than I like Lee. I wish the best of luck to both of them.

I brought up those stats, not for a JL/JJ debate, just to show that just because you have better stats doesn't mean you are a "better" qb. That there are intangibles that can't be measured in statistics

Why did Miles start JR over MF?

dude like i've stated before this debate is fricking stupid, why can't they both be great LSU QBs? why can't they be even? Why can't they be remembered for different things?
WHY CAN'T THIS frickING THREAD END??
And ask Bill Belichick why it took him sooo long to start Tom Brady??

quote:Excellent choice. My personal favorite is actually a tie between Herb Tyler and Tommy Hodson. Both thrived in a period of lesser expectations and neither of them were as good a JaMarcus (imo), but they were a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
For what it's worth, my favorite LSU QB in my lifetime was Rohan Davey.

I bet it's chaos when they get together.

"Herb Tyler and Tommy Hodson"
A couple of good choices there, as well.

Flynn and Mauck= National Championship
JR and Perrilew= no championship
Jarridd Lee is the missing piece of a championship run.
Jordan Jeffsone hasnt prove nothing.
Wish we still had Hatch
