agreed, Shel...i wasn't going to say anything because I didn't know if it was just my Saints bias coming out, but you're always there to back me up
You know I got your back.
Don't get me wrong, the Saints WR corps is not that great, especially with Colston hurt a lot last year.
But still, Colston is MONEY!!! Devery is a legit deep threat. Lance moore is overrated cause Brees makes him look so good, but he's still a decent little possession WR.
The Raiders WRs are Javon Walker who was hurt, but may actually be better hurt, then playing, lol. And then they got Johnnie Lee higgins and Chaz Schillens, or something like that.
Not even a contest.

The receivers are honestly no worse than what Saints run out there every week.
You could argue Colston but the rest are no worse than Devery/Moore
Wait, wait wait.
You think the Raiders WRs are as good as the Saints?
Dude, just about ANYBODY I've ever talked to, every last one of them agree that the Raiders had pretty much by far the worst WR corps in the NFL last year, not even close.
And as for others calling Russell a bust or flop or whatever, dude started 1 year as the youngest starting QB in the NFl for crying out loud.
It took John Elway something like 5 or 6 years before he had more TDs than INTs, and after TEN years for Elway, he had 1 more TD than INT.
So, let's hold up on this bust thing for minute, good lord.
Elway also played in a different era. Name me 1 young QB who is given more than 3 years to learn on job in today's game?
If a QB does not produce here lately he is labeled a bust and put as a career backup.
Ashlie Lelie/Ronald Curry/Javon Walker I would say yeah no worse than Henderson/Moore. I think Brees has honestly made Moore/Henderson look better than what they are.
Hell Lelie had a good year in Denver 2004 his third season much like Moore last year.
Ronald Curry has had 3 seasons of 50+ catches but no longer on Raider team but had talent.
Take Brees away from Saints Moore/Henderson maybe even Colston dont look nearly as good.
In reality this year is going to be harder because the Raider receivers got even younger and less experienced than last year. But they have some talent...

the dude got drafted to literally the worst franchise the NFL has seen the last 7 or 8 years...

Wouldnt the 06 Saints receiver look similar to the Raiders of last year?
Joe Horn - Javon Walker aging vet
Devery Henderson- Ashlie Lelie speed guy who hasnt had flip switch in his head
Terrance Copper- Ronald Curry possession receiver
Jamal Jones - Johnnie Lee Higgins unknown
Lance Moore- Chaz Schilens unknown practice squad player
of course Colston came out of no where as a 7th round draft pick

nope don't think he is a flop... yet anyways, i hope he doesn't
my reference was that Manning has gotten bigger b/c of what he did in the nfl, so i'm just saying that along with his great stats, his nfl success has also help increased his lore around TN since leaving

Lions havent won since Sanders retired... at least Raiders were in the super bowl/play-offs more recently.

I doubt, I mean at least Al Davis and Raiders can go to trophy case and see a super bowl trophy, a few AFC crowns, division crowns.
What can Lions look at? A retired plaque of one of greatest RB's ever to play.
No team can compare to the Lions has far as management futility. Al Davis is a loon but he hates losing and will make a change if he thinks it will help. The Lions... well we saw what they do, keep a guy who drafts a wide receiver year in and year out.

That's what I have a problem with, not giving QBs time to actually develop.

Exactly. Youngest QB in the league, started 1 season and people are already bringing up the word bust.

They caught a TOTAL of 55 balls last year.

I do agree with that.

Raiders combined record since 2003:
24-72 (with their best season being 5-11 over that time)
Lions combined record since 2003:
26-70 (with their best season being 7-9)
BOOM, KING JOEY and TDUECEN!

Well I guess I should have clarified, those 3 have shown potential in the league and do have talent.
Thats the point I was trying to get out, you put Henderson/Moore on Raiders of last year and Curry/Lelie on Saints (Healthy) do the numbers reverse?

Now go back 8 seasons and add it up since it was originally said 7/8 seasons.

You're probably right on that account, yea.
But, I think my greater point stands, that the Saints WR corps is MUCH better than the Raiders, as the Raiders WR are the absolute worst in the NFL.

I still believe the 1 reason the Saints wide receiver corps would be considered greater is Drew Brees. At San Diego and here for Saints he has made unproven's look good. He gets the best out of every player because he knows just where to put the ball.
Colston is another X factor too, he is just so much better than anything Raiders have it makes it unfair.

Again, I agree for the most part.
But if we could do a complete hypothetical and give the Raiders WR to the Saints last year, i do believe the Raiders WRs put up better numbers, no doubt. BUT I think Brees's stats go down.
Likewise, give the Saints WRs to the Raiders last year and there numbers OBVIOUSLY go down, but I think Russell's numbers go up.

Since 2001 (Last winning record by Lions)

well obviously because then the Raiders had Gruden as their coach and Rich Gannon as their QB...that franchise was a whole lot different then than they were even a year or two later...

with a title like "I still miss Jamarcus," what could possibly have been said for 23 pages?
