I'll tell you how bad his passes were Jester; we had a 5 star stud receiver that couldn't even get drafted because of his shitty arm and decision making!

Wait. You're trying to blame Toliver not getting drafted on JJ?

You, my friend, are a fool.

While I agree Crowton left alot to be desired as an O/C I also think Jefferson as a qb made it even worse. Bad O/C and bad qb = very bad offense and that is what LSU had the past 2 years.

What no one understands is JJ is a direct product of Crowton. The kid only played QB for a year and a half in high school. JJ came to LSU as a raw talent. He was still learning to play the position because he hadn't had much actual playing time.He was coached by crowton for 3 years. Longer than by any other coach. Also Crowton changed his throwing motion. Crowton was directly responsible for his development or non-development I should say. Look at his play in high school and see if you recognize the JJ of today. He was better in high school.

JJ at QB in 2010 no doubt hurt Toliver's production. but if you have good workouts, interviews, and physical attributes to go along with the 90 catches and 8-10 TDs Toliver caught his last 2 yrs, you should get drafted. there was more to it than just the QB play.

Actually Jester I think the 2008 offense was not that bad. I think the pick 6's which were mainly due to Lee being thrown in earlier than he should have due to the loss of Perriloux were the biggest negatives there. Not to mention the bad D which was made worse by the pick 6's.

We will never know for sure but I honestly think with Perriloux the 2008 offense may have been very good!

Did this point have to do with outlet routes?

No, although that is a good one as well.

It had to do with Jefferson's drop in 2009 and the resulting sacks it caused.

You know I was wanting JJ to redshirt this year and back up Mett next year, but it may just be better for him to just play sparingly this year, get his rings and move on. Maybe Rivers can develop behind Mett and can take the baton when Mett graduates.

Edot: We all just want this Crowton Era to be behind us.

I agree with that. In my opinion, Mett is probably the best QB on the roster.

Did crowton instruct JJ to throw a quarter of the passes at the receivers feet?
Every QB has incompletions.
Jefferson actually has the best completion % for a season since Jamarcus. Even his worst of 56.5% in '10 is better than Lee's 2008 53.2%.
It's pretty obvious when a QB can do a 180 from a decent season to a horrid one, there are underlying issues with either injury, OL, WRs, or coaching. I think it's the latter.
You idiots can like Lee without hating Jefferson you know.

Does Bush have to do with the GC/JJ toilet bowl of an offense that we've had for the past 3 years?

This is why most fans are reluctant to get him back on board. He was set up to fail with poor preparation, poor play calling, poor clock management etc. Unfortunatly for him, he was at the helm during the bulk of it. Fans just want to get past that and move on to what we currently have, which is a solid identity of an offense. It consistantly moves the chains and runs the clock. JL came in at a good time and has played solid, but as another thread shows, his numbers weren't that much better than JJ at the end of last year. We are so much happier now than last year though. Being number 1 in the country will do that though.

This

makes all the sense in the world, he is forever tied with the shitty Crowton offense and it has burned fans to no end.

I think it's the other way around, Crowton was the face of JJ's "skill" set
