Clearly that is a canned answer to not have to address any "who is the starter?" questions.

non-issue. I suspect he and the staff haven't made a final decision yet. However, when they do, they want to talk to the players first rather than letting the players know through the media. I can respect that, and I'm not one of these people who thinks Les "owes" me information about his team. The only thing I'm owed is that the seat I paid for will be available on Sat. night.
There is a reason Harris was the starter last year and this year. Obviously the staff (until the 2nd Quarter) felt he gave LSU the best chance to win. I doubt they are ready to just completely give up on Harris. That said, Les CAN'T start Harris Saturday. He just can't. If he does, Harris will come out to a chorus of boos and LSU will be deflated before they even take their first snap on offense.

this is so overrated as an issue. They're both the same type of QB and our offense is basically the same with either of them. It's not giving MSU anything useful.
But it would give our team a chance to unite behind the starter, so it's best to name the starter early in the week. and let him go into practice this week knowing he's the guy.

So they prepare for one who isn't accurate and one that is accurate and reads defenses better and is more mobile.

Tells me he will be making a change and didn't want the guys to hear it on this show. You need to make sure it doesn't cause locker room drama. I don't mind him holding off on an official announcement, and anyone that takes issue with it is just looking for something to be pissed about.

I agree completely. If Harris starts, there's a real chance that Les starts to lose the locker room.
Everyone on that team (and in the stadium) knows who's the better QB. It ain't hard to see. If we don't start the better guy, Les will demoralize everyone.

This is true. However, if Etling throws an interception in the 1st Qtr, BH will be back on the field, and Etling may not see the field again.
