This thread is wishful thinking. Bama won't lose 4 games. Maybe to Auburn, who looks unstoppable, but that's it. How is LSU going to win Saturday without the threat of the forward pass? If you are a LSU fan, you should already realize what Nick Saban will do. Bring the house, 11 guys on the line at the snap and make the QB beat you. What do you think the chances of that happening are?
I hear ya but I will say this, if SC can beat Bama, so can we. Never think that this won't be a war decided in the 4th quarter.

They have the threat of a forward pass; what they lack is the sense to start the QB that gives them that threat.

I was not implying Auburn 2008 was a great win. I realize their top 10 ranking was fake. But it seems people on here just define "good win" in any way that proves their point. They draw the line at top 10 because it fits their argument.
1. If "final" ranking matters, then you can't even count this year and say we haven't beaten any top 10 teams. Florida and or MSU could finish top 10, not to mention Bama, Arky or the bowl game which we haven't played yet.
2. It is logistically pretty damn hard to beat teams that "finish" top 10. You only play 1-2 of those teams a year. More importantly, once you beat them their ranking falls. Had we not beaten Ga Tech 2008 or Florida and MSU this year for example, they probably would be "top 10 teams". By almost any measure those were "great wins"

I think this team can beat BAMA too, but using SC as an example isn't a good parallel. Garcia had the game of his life and was nailing recievers with pin point accuracy, and running for first downs. We won't get that from our QB set up so special teams and D will have to bring this one home.

If beating Bama isn't considered a big win then beating UF in 07 wasn't a big deal, beating Bama in 05 wasn't big, beating Ohio St. for the NC wasn't a big deal, beating Bama in 07 wasn't a big deal.
Then what the frick do you consider a big win?

Will my fellow ranters say that we still haven't beaten anybody good the last 3 years?
The west is getting to be one helluva place to play...if this successful trend continues get prepared to see a lot of AA teams on everyone's OOC schedule

Florida is unranked currently. MSU still sucks, you are just looking for an excuse to strengthen LSU's win.
This year's Florida is not the Florida we have seen over the couple of years. This is their rebuilding year. We have been rebuilding for a minute now we still haven't built a championship team.
Over in Florida, they think the close, emotional, home-loss to LSU took just enough starch out of the Gators for them to lose another close one to MSU. In other words their fans all say they should be 7-1 right now and believe they will not lose again this year. We'll see, but the point is any time you win in The Swamp, that is a big victory, good fortune notwithstanding. MSU is on a level now that UGA or UT normally share, so that in retrospect, will probably appear to be a pretty big victory. Would a victory over 'Bama be the biggest victory of the season? Without question. But that doesn't discount some good wins the Tigers already have. Four and one at this point against teams that will go bowling is a whole lot better than most teams have faired and is the reason LSU deserves their current ranking.

See that is what bothers me. I am fine with the "Florida isn't as good as they usually are" even though they lost to all ranked teams. But then MSU has to be considered good "even though they usually aren't".
