If Mullen and Aranda were both dealing with the same level of talent, I would agree. But LSU has WAY better talent on defense than Mullen has on offense this year.

I know Aranda knows wayyyy more than me on Defense but I will never understand why we didn’t load the box.

If you expect Aranda to win every game, than we’re underpaying him, and carry the team, than we’re underpayong him, and overpay the two chickpeas wth the flattops

I'm curious to know what games you think aranda has won by himself this year?

I agree Aranda does not get “a pass” but The DL is NOT litered with talent. At least not top 3 round NFL talent like we enjoyed and took for granted in the past.

Until the DL and the OL get some dominant play makers this team will not elevate itself beyond the middle of the pack in the SEC regardless of what scheme Aranda conjures up.

The score was 20-19 Florida. The next two possessions we turned it over, one was a pick 6.

Florida's offensive line played as good as it has the whole year.

I didn't see any problems that couldn't be corrected.

Calm down.

Or maybe when his unit has an “off day” and still only gives up 20 points, just 6 in the second half, we can realize just how good he is and maybe ask the offense to carry the team just once in a while.

Dear God this.... Players were in position to make plays all weekend. For whatever reason Florida pushed us around on a few drives. If that’s his bad game I can live with that. I think the D responds with a dominant performance at home Saturday.

The highest paid and best defensive coordinator doesn't get to have off days vs teamsije UF and Tech. I wouldn't give Orgeron a pass for the team coming out flat so the same goes for Aranda. I'm a huge Wade and CPM fan as well, same goes for those guys this year. They have talent and get paid well to win games. They don't get passes for poor play. That's what they signed up for.

you don't make sense at all. you say the defense is what it is. but you think the offense needs to improve. so one coach gets a pass but the other one doesn't?

Again, his bad game resulted in a Gran total of 20 points total and just 6 in the second half.

It is incredibly, ridiculously unfair to the defense and Aranda that you think they have to hold opponents to one score or less to earn his money.

Yet you think it’s perfectly fine for the OC and his unit to continually shite the bed.

The LSU Tiger football team has NO pass rush. This will spell many more losses.

I understand what you're saying but the difference is one coach (Aranda) has earned the benefit of the doubt through years of excellent defenses. Guys like Ensminger and Orgeron have not. They're not all on the same level.

Is it too much to ask for the offense for once to pick up the slack for the defense? Why is it always up to Aranda's unit to perform to unreasonable and sometimes impossible standards for us to win?

I would answer your question with another question. Do you believe that Aranda thinks it's acceptable to give up 200 yards rushing to Florida or that he is satisfied with the performance vs Tech?

The offensive output is a seperate issue to me. Obviously, they've needed to improve weekly to do their part to get the team where they want to be. They haven't pulled their weight in some games this year either.

Maybe we just don't have the "dudes" that we think we do and the expectations of this being a potentially great defense were just way off base?

I'm more inclined to think we're just not that good as currently constituted over thinking that Aranda's being outschemed that much.

This is correct!!

No one gets a pass for this Florida game. They should all take some responsibility and I have no doubt that they are doing so. Its our idiot fans picking sides like there is a side to pick. It's the some of the most childish behavior I've seen from adults.

To the people who actually believes some secrete scheme or OC would have helped the players Saturday. If the players don't perform, it doesn't matter what scheme you deploy, it will fail. A scheme builds throughout the game and if you aren't successful on play number 1 then play number 2 is blown up and you have to start from 1 again.

Go back and watch how wide open some of those WRs were. The end around was. The backside holes. They were put in positions to win and grantham knew it. If he wouldn't have taken that chance to blitz he would have been torn apart. This OL couldn't adjust. The RBs couldn't block. The WRs couldn't block. The TEs missed a lot.

Meanwhile our defense is locking arms with the blocker and staying there. You're not supposed to let the blocker inside your pads. Once you do that, it's pretty much over. You have to maneuver around those arms and his body with your speed and strength combo. It's a mindset to dominate the man in front. That's what it balls down to really.
