My buddy is getting married during bama/lsu.
There is a fine line between wanting your guests to come to the wedding vs forcing them to go when it comes to football season for any big program.
I have been to a few weddings on LSU game days. Back then the wedding was over run by people wearing radio headsets, people leaving the wedding to watch it next door at a sports bar then return, and nowadays watching the game on their phones. If I was a bride I would be pissed to see that, so play it safe and take it out of the equation.

Anybody that schedules a wedding on Saturday during the college football season needs to be water boarded.

What’s the realistic level of heat I get from my wife if I skip it?
It will be heat that will make the fires of hell seem like a small campfire. Just think about it this way, you don’t live every day with footbal but you do your spouse.

I still wish necrotic gonorrhea on people who schedule weddings on cfb Saturdays, but sometimes you have to suffer through. I watched 2021 ole miss on my phone during an entire ceremony. Got the look from my wife and some people, but like I said: “you knew about this when we met.” Finished off the game at the bar during the restaurant recption.

The days of "Don't plan your wedding during football season" are pretty obsolete at this point.

Ask your wife if she's gained weight. Puts her on the defensive.

People have no business scheduling weddings on Saturdays during football season. Go to the game.

Close family friend is doing the same thing, but I’m the a-hole for saying I’d just show up to the reception.

I'm gonna guess that you get invited to MANY weddings, but they're all same sex weddings. Am I right? And lose your red pencil for marking the grammar. This is not English class. Its a message board with a bunch of hung-over football fans. Give it a break.

I listened to the ‘97 LSU Florida game on radio with earphones during the wedding ceremony and everyone in the church was looking for me to provide updates, including the groomsmen. What a reception!

Tell her you’ll catch the second wedding.

Send a nice gift and stay home and watch the game

It’s a night wedding? Kick off is 6:30CDT. If afternoon, tell the Mrs. You have to leave the reception in time to watch the game. She needs to be ready to leave or get another ride home.
