Bama seems scared to death that they may not get in the game.
To quote Nick Saban "...a team that doen't win their conference doesn't belong in the championship game." 2003. But I bet he doesn't hold to that now. Should be 2 conference champions in the game.

They realize on paper they dont compete well against a Big 12 champ OSU.

They remind me of two kids fighting and when the first one wins the other goes home and whines to his parents then comes back and says I dare you to hit me. What are you scared? Realistically their pride is hurt and they are scared they won't recover to the best team in the SEC. It's been a few years. Last year Aubie and now LSU in "their year".

Not really. They just think if enough of them are able to tell each other that enough, they might be able to convince each other that it might really be true.
