re: Is Max the answer

So Joe Burrow has Jefferson and chase as well as a running game in 2018 and Max's numbers are the same if not better than Burrow. You can literally see the difference a Coordinator made in just a year. But hey let's blame it on a 19 year old kid instead of the coaching staff that was fired.

After watching Peetz roll him out the wrong way for the 50th time this year I’m not even sure his mechanics or arm strength are the problem. I’d like to see him play under an OC that knows that he’s lefthanded before judging him too harshly.

Let’s see what he can do with a real OC and head coach. His short comings are very fixable with a real coach. Tom Brady would struggle under this staff.

I seen a stat that answer your question on 5 step drops and broken plays he completion % is 40%. I've coached football over 30 years and his fundamentals are horrible. You would think with his dad being NFL QB he would teach him to step into his throws not to throw off your back leg. On RPA and 3 step drops he actually decent.

I wish he would have played against Arkansas a little more..

he hasn’t gotten better as the season went on and i really hope the new staff doesn’t give him the nod just because he’s been here the longer
he throws shitty balls with zero touch, doesn’t sense pressure or runs right into it, and is very easy to tackle (very predictable)

With a strong ground game, he’s serviceable. Without it, he looks bad.

He sucks. You need a guy who can throw the ball downfield. He hits 1 of every 5 passes to open guys past 10 yards. Can't be that bad and complete for the sec.

Agree he was the game manager we needed in second half vs Arkansas

With some time with his dad fixing his mechanics then a spring summer and fall camp with proper coaching he will be good
But let’s be honest most on here a turned on him and with never accept him

If you play with his arm weakness, you'd better have great instincts and timing. He's subpar at both. The ONLY thing he was doing well was not turning the ball over. Then he started fumbling too.
Max isn't the answer

For Mcneese, possibly. LSU, no.

Max is good enough to lead this team to a national championship. He is only a true sophomore and has performed well. LSU has to improve the offensive line and run game. You can’t put everything on him. His arm strength isn’t his strong point but neither was Burrow’s. 2019 Was Burrow’s 5th year. This was Max’s second.

As a backup to Archie! LK will bring Archie with him

Walker Howard will be the answer!!!!

This might be a cheesy reason but him and his brother just want to play ball together and baby bro will enroll in the fall as the #1 tight end recruit in the country.
Max has a year and a half of SEC experience. Behind a shitty o-line no less. I'm hoping that means he's learned the value of calling good protections.
Point is, I think the dude is going to crush it next year. I'm thinking David Greene his senior year at UGA type season.

What’s the question????
LSU has bigger problems than QB play. They have to have better offensive line play before they can compete for a championship

Only if the question is “Who shouldn’t be starting for any SEC team at QB?”
Posted on 11/21/21 at 3:18 pm to mpwilging
He’s a serviceable backup and that’s it. You aren’t winning big with Max
