Is the wing-t a possibility?
If I was you, I would delete your account and change the name completely. Also, type in a different style so no one knows it is you ever again.

Malzahn's system is based a lot off the Wing-T as well, but based is all you can say about it! It's a lot more modern and 1000 x's more up tempo. Also it's more spread out and then you add in the misdirection and all. You don't see Malzahn run many traps but his version is based off power, counter, zone read, inverted veer, and speed sweeps. A lot of old school philosophies modernized. We won't see it at LSU though, that's a guarantee. I know one thing though, with the athletes we have, it'd be a scary site if we ever ran an uptempo spread system.

This board is pure crap.
You realize that the guards take you to the play 99% of the time in Wing T offenses right?
I dont like those chances against SEC linebackers who can read guards.

Please God NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The wing-T no longer works for a reason.... much more speed now. And if LSU ever runs the wishbone I will vomit.

The better question to me is why do posters get ridiculed for asking questions?
nolatrain504 got flak as well for just asking about throwing to the TEs.
The OP in this thread didn't say we need to switch to a Wing T. He asked if it's a possibility. I think it's an interesting idea. Not necessarily as the primary formation in the offense, but as a possible piece built in and around the cornerstone.
Think about it like this - The LSU backfield is going to be loaded with power backs next year. The passing game will certainly take a step back, so defenses will be gearing up to stop the power running game. Creative/deceptive plays from different formations can offset some of that.
And then you have Alabama - We know about Saban defenses. They are BIG, and generally match up extremely well with power running offenses. Because they are very effective at stuffing big backs, it's critical to keep them off-balance. It's analagous to an off-speed pitch in baseball. It's effective in its deception and it slows hitters' bats down for the fastball.
Another note on attacking Saban defenses - Because the LBs at Alabama are so big, I like the idea of using smaller, scatback-type players at times to present matchup problems, in both the running and passing game.
