Everyone knew Ross would have to make a start in this CWS. It was either going to be against Virginia last Friday or in the championship series. This should come as no surprise. Plus its the right move.

ok ok, i get it know, i have changed my opinion, smart move

PM made all the right moves last night. (well maybe he left Coleman in a little long) Everything else was "money".
Bringing Ott in was risky....but it was huge.
Let PM call the game like he wants.

I also think it's b/c we saw that Texas can hit fastballs last night. We need someone that will be able to throw lots of off speed at them.

Probably still have Jones for a situational lefty
Yes, though Byrd has also really looked good in the postseason. Fantastic start to win the SEC tourny, and an excellent inning in relief already at the CWS. I wouldn't be surprised to see PM use him tonight for an inning.

If Ross starts LSU better put up at least 8 runs, he was not impressive his last outing and tends to give up 5 or more runs as a starter. Jared Mitchell will support him and hit for the cycle tonight.

exactly, you can't expect to get by with only two starting pitchers with this many games...plus Texas finds themselves in a similar position they have used a lot of pitchers so far. Ross can handle himself just fine, I mean hell Coleman gave up 5 earned last night - he stays somewhere within that number I think we're fine

Is this confirmed anywhere? Nothing wrong with Ross, but I thought Ranaudo would be the guy tonight. Guess that's why I'm not a major college baseball coach!

you could honestly make a case for going either way, but obviously if we can win with Ross tonight game over and we are the Champs!
However, you also now know that if we lose you can put an Ace on the mound and feel real good about the pitching matchup there. You see this all the time in baseball

I wonder how short the leash will be for Ross. Hopefully he pitches with the lead and can get through 5 innings or so.

Jesus, people. You'd think Ross was a scrub. He has pitched well this season but has had little run support. He will be fine.

For those that think Ross has pitched poorly lately has been watching a differnt Austin Ross I am not familliar with.
He has pitched very well his last few starts and with the chips down he seems to pitch better. Yes he lost to Vanderbilt, but he only gave up 4 runs, I'll take that outing anytime.

Hultbergs show says PM has announced Ross as the starter tonight

ok, WHY????
my guess is Jordy had the information and decided to go ahead and give it to his audience. Only reason I can think of....

Only place ive seen it is here, im for starting Ranaudo myself, but i can get used to the idea of Ross pitching, its risky either way, I trust PM

I heard it right out of the Coach's mouth. That's confirmation enough for me.

Exactly, PM great job setting this up. We have everyone ready, Byrd, Cain, Bradshaw but Ross will come through like a champ.

If Austin is spotting his fastball down and on the corners, Texas hitters are going to have a helluva time trying to hit his curveball.
