Could see Renaudo if there is a save situation to win the game.

I asked this in another thread. Do you guys think Ranaudo would come in for a save situation in the 8th or 9th inning? Or, do we save him for tomorrow no matter what?

The only thing that worries me tonight is giving up walks and turning their HRs into multi-run HRs instead of solo shots.

Ross has 21 walks in 81 innings. I think he'll be fine in that regard. Bradshaw has 11 walks in 47 innings.

I would think that bringing in Ranaudo in the 9th would be playing to win.

True. Hopefully the balls aren't flying like they were last night.

Maybe Ranaudo legitimately isn't ready.

Sure Ranaudo is the man, but Ross is a quality starter too. He is an LSU Tiger. We need to back the man and cheer him on to a solid start tonight.

A gem from Ross like he did against Vandy would be clutch.

he threw 70 pitches

the whole reason to pull him the other day was so he would be ready

+1

If he matches this performance, Texas doesn't have a Mike Minor to hold LSU to one lousy run.

Maybe it is a good move. I really don't like the idea of depending on a third game. We need to close it out tonight. Play like this is the last one. Maybe the idea is to catch Texas off guard with Ross, bring Rinaudo in to close.

maybe....that's speculation at this point. But I am not going to question PM's decision, he has been toying with pitchers/lineups all season and has gotten us this far- he knows what's up

We can always bring in AR to close it out in Middle relief if needed.

This says it all. We allow PM to show faith in Ross, build the kid up and give him this big moment. If we're up and the title is in our grasp we bring in Ranaldeaux to close it.

This final series is an instant classic. My girlfriend (UGA grad) was watching at her house and she usually hates this stuff. That was the best drama on tv last night for sure.

If we're far enough ahead going into the 8th or 9th, I can see him bringing in AR to close it out. If it's close, he'll save him for game 3 if it gets to that.

At least we're home team tonight.

Not a good line last time he pitched against UVA. Hopefully he got the jitters out and is ready to give us a solid 7 innings and 3 runs or less.

I’m not arguing whether he should start or not. Being that he’s not going to start tonight, I’m asking if we should risk bringing him late in the game to preserve a lead and seal the deal, or save him for tomorrow no matter what?

Nah. He was pulled early so that he COULD be availabe in case we needed him. He is not needed thanks to the win last night.

So, you give him the extra day of rest in the hope that he can give you more than he would tonight.

If you throw Ranaudo tonight, and he wears down in the 4th or 5th in a tie game, then what do you do?

This is clearly the right move IMO.
