Anyone who thinks that that’s childish comes off as extremely insecure. LSU as a whole brings many people back to parents who may longer be here and things of that nature. Many many different reasons to get emotional that has nothing to do with actual sports. Nothing wrong with getting emotional over really anything.
Agreed. I’m just speculating on why it was downvoted.

Thompson batted for the first time on Monday and the crowd support for him was deafening
yeah - that was special - so glad he was able to go out on a winning note - especially the magnitude of that win.

It has given me so much happiness and joy throughout my life.
I love LSU and LSU sports as much as the next person, but if your life’s joy and happiness is coming from college kids playing a game, you need to get out more.

As opposed to you, who seems to find misery in just about everything.

There’s a wide range of emotions between breaking down crying out of excitement and being miserable.

Grown men crying over a game played by 17-24 year olds that they don’t have any connection with other than the jersey they wear. Absolutely pathetic.
What are you trying to hide?

You just tried to put somebody down for finding happiness, that seems pretty miserable to me.

It’s not over a baseball game played by anyone. It’s about history with family and memories from child hood. You young pussy cats have no idea what that is or you have no history with anyone or your family just sucks.
Whatever the case may be, you have been left with no perspective history, which sucks for people like you. See some people have vivid memories of listening to LSU football and baseball on the radio with their father, grandfather, uncles or other family. Going to a game in the cold or hot weather with those same people and feeling the stadium rumble in their chest and ears ringing from the crowd. Not being able to hear the person next to you hollering something at you or even hear your own voice yelling out. Staying at the stadium until the clock hits 0:00 and seeing the Tigers beat a team everyone said they wouldn’t or handle business.
Going to the old box knowing we had the most dominant baseball team in the country and knowing the opposing team knew the same. Just in case they thought they had a chance, the crowd quickly defeated those fleeting thoughts. Knowing that when the Tigers were down 8-0 in the bottom of the 7th, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that we’d still win that game and 9/10 times, they did. Seeing the Tigers launch back to back homers to start the come back. This team was exactly like those teams in that way and this season brought all that back for many of the fans who have those historic memories with those people they have those memories with and that’s why it brought those emotions.
