This is a very possible explanation.
I worked in the AD while a student at LSU and worked full time at three other schools after graduating, I he first six years of my career were in college athletics.
I say all of that to explain that there is a ton of unnecessary overhead and bloated salaries in these departments. Especially at big schools like LSU.
These organizations have never run like lean businesses. There are associate athletic directors tucked in every corner that do about 15 hours of real work every week but make $150k+-$200k per year.

Jacoby didn't coach players and he wasn't even an evaluator of talent,I don't think. I believe he just set up visits and stuff like that

Jacoby sabotaged the 2020 season to make himself feel special. He would rather hold a march through campus than practice. He’s either a narcissist or an idiot. Possibly both.

Yeah I thought coach O had a good thing going with the whole “block out the noise.” Felt Jacoby and those guys really messed that up prior to that season.

Society has become too soft when you have to lie about everything because the truth is too upsetting and offensive to people. Instead, you’re expected to just make crap up that’s not true in order to soften the message for everyone and not hurt any feelings.
