Jacques Talk With Mickey Joseph

Tidbits

- Sounds like Mickey put feelers out after O got fired, and landed with Nebraska. Figured the new coach could let some people go. But understands the business & talks highly of Kelly

- says that he is sure Kelly will hire a NOLA guy like years before. It’s about relationships, & the coaches are tough. They don’t like when LSU doesn’t offer & other SEC schools do.

- says He met with the WRs yesterday, and told them all to stay out of the portal if they could avoid it. That Kelly is a good coach & winning for the home state is special

-Jacques asks him to breakdown each WR.

Boutte competitor who tried to beat out Chase as a freshmen. Top 10 pick. He does things right. Doesn’t sound like the kid is going to transfer like some have said here

Nabers- sat out his Sr year in HS, but still practiced with team & wanted to be a part. Told Coach O late in process they had to have this kid. Quiet, but on the field is like Chase. Doesn’t throttle down, full speed & fearless

Bech- same thing. Fearless, runs great routes, can be used in multiple ways. Great after catch, great hands

Thomas Jr- very special skill set. Future star.

Hilton Jr- was injured but just getting back. Does everything well. Needs to hit weight room. Great ball hawk for his size

Jenkins- quiet kid who got passed by Fr early. Kept working, then passed them back up. Thinks he has an nfl future

Palmer- was immature up until this year, when he became a new father. Speed is unreal, but has really started to put things together

Jacques asks him about 3&17 vs UT, and he says when he heard Joe Brady call the play(rather than run & punt & play defense) he knew it was a new era of LSU football.

Really solid interview & a great series Jacques has done. Still finishing it up

Great summary Lester.

I feel like Mickey will be back at LSU one day working for Coach Kelly.

Wish Mickey the best!

According to idiots on the Rant he gave Kelly an ultimatum. Of course I know on the Rant they will make up any lie just to attack a player or a coach.

But I’ve been told all day that the offense was all Ensminger and that Brady has never called a play in his life

Wonder what's gonna happen to Shazz now. Was he not the primary recruiter?

It was well documented that Brady called 3rd down plays. Don't see the intrigue here.

Of course he did. And as scene in the One Team documentary, he was ground zero for what plays worked in what situation, and he was who QBs got all their feedback from in the booth

Is this a mistake to let him go or is it a timing thing?

He is choosing to leave to a school with a head coach that is one year away from being fired?

He heard Brady relay the play to the field. They were both in the both.

The story was that Joe called the play and Ensminger said that he liked the call but wanted Clyde to stay in and block, knowing that UT would blitz.
