re: JaMarcus Russel Returning To LSU For Fall Classes

He might be helpful to JJ. I hope he gets his degree and does something good with his life. Ryan Leaf is a small college coach now, I think.
Jefferson has the luxury of two QB coaches now.(Kragthorpe AND Kilian) Don't need Russell anywhere near this program.
That's fine if he wants to finish his degree work, but Miles better not let JR get too close to the program. Letting this millionaire and his money in the door could potentially be big trouble (N.C.A.A. wise) and that's something L.S.U. certainly doesn't need at this point in time.
BTW, what's a millionaire with already more money than most college grads will make in a lifetime, need with a degree from L.S.U.? Has he already blown through those multi-millions in a few short years and now needs to get a degree and real world job?

Maybe he is returning to the only town where he is still a hero. He turned his back on his home state universities, he is not popular in Oakland, so Baton Rouge is the most favorable city for him. I hope he gets his degree and is successful. Except for the "purple drank" no one that I am aware of ever said that he was/is a bad person.

maybe. just fricking maybe. he likes/loves LSU. maybe he bleeds purple and gold more than any of you frickwads hating on his arse because he practiced sweated and bled for LSU football while he was here. maybe not getting his degree is something he really regrets. he beat Bama, AU, UF, ole miss etc while he was the starting qb for my lsu tigers and I for one appreciate what he did for us while he was here.

Obviously JR is just coming back to get a degree so he can rub it in the face of all our sidewalk alums who really bleed purple and gold. The nerve of him.

I loved watching JR play at LSU. He made clutch plays to beat Bama and Tenn on the road. I was at both games and proud to walk out of the stadium as a Tiger and proud of the way he played. He didn't have it in his heart to play in the NFL...so what, he didn't spit in my face and steal my cookies.
As an LSU alumnus I hope he gets his degree and joins me as a proud graduate of LSU!

This has to be the dumbest statement in this whole debacle.

Hopefully some will notice typical Christopher Hitchens counter-argumentation in this thread: use invective, never acknowledge inconvenient fact, and change the subject. It was shocking to see Hitchens and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair ramble at one another months ago over religion. I knew Hitchens would be unpersuasive as usual, but I knew Blair was a good debater. Only now do I recall accurately what I thought of the mess at the time: It was one leftist arguing against a more extreme leftist about the reality that is Catholic (which is Blair's new religion) doctrine, which is incompatible with leftism.

I used to knight hard for JaMarcus even after the purple drink thing but seeing the Alabama shirt really put him on the shite list.

How many of you internet tough guys are say anything to his face? lulz
I saw him at Waffle House off Airport Road in Mobile after Bay Fest last year. I wouldn't say shite to that dude's face, much less when he had the other 6'5"/300lb black dudes with him.

That's only part of the argument. The other part really is to his benefit. If he knew he was going to go to the Raiders, which he did, why not wait another year and let a better team come along that would train you and work with your talents? Oakland is a train wreck of an organization and only a fool who wants $$ would hitch their wagon to that piece of shite. A true athlete and competitor who wants to win would not.
Holy shite. This is the most retarded thing I've ever read on this site, and that's saying something. Do you understand how the NFL draft works? Is Nnamdi Asomugha a fool? I'm willing to bet he's at least twice as smart as you. Is Darren McFadden a fool? No; he simply followed the rules and reported to the team that drafted him.
Another question: what, in your mind, is the end-goal of going to college? I went to college to make as much money as possible. I suspect you never made that choice.
Who the frick are you to tell a kid when and where he can begin his professional career? Should he have declined going to a "piece of shite" team and told Roger Goddell that he'd only play for the Patriots? How could he have done better than being the number one pick?

Last I heard, this was the United States, where freedom of speech and freedom to wear whatever clothes you want is part of daily life(regardless of whether the clothes are in bad taste or not. See: jorts, any Alabama gear, any Ole Miss gear, etc.)
I don't give a rat's arse what anyone else wears. JR was an LSU Tiger, will always be one and I don't care what he wears, from the technicolor sweater to the Alabama jacket or the Bama Boy Bling. If some company paid me big bux to endorse their product line, you'd see me wearing an Alabama jersey too.
Some of you people have wayyyyy too much time on your hands.
