Not near as good as the media makes him out to be.

im not saying he isnt good... i mean 18 tackles in the NC is frickin outrageous... but i thinkthe media slobs his nuts a little too hard at times

If you're denying he was a bad arse in that game you are only kidding yourself. He was everywhere. He was really their only bright spot.

I just know the LSU O Lineman said he was an absolute beast.

He is soooo quick to the ball and just looks bigger than everybody else.I love the way the guy plays the game.

I think he is very good but very overrated as well. He is good, not great. Would be an average SEC linebacker.

Easy big boy, just making a joke about the similarities in the 2 names.

Yes he's good and will make it in the NFL but I don't expect him to be the next Butkis or anything.

Laurinatis is solid, not spectacular. He made a ton of tackles in the NC game, but 90% of them were after gains of 5 or more yards in his gaps or passing zones.

It's tough to make TFLs when your undersized DTs are getting eaten up at the LOS.

Ding ding ding..........James can play LB but his stat line was cute not powerful...........18 tackles is nice but he doesn't do well in pass coverage in my opinion cause Dickson owned him on many plays with routes and he plays on his heels..........maybe DTs hurt him but he wasn't a dominant force

Pretty darn good who got caught trying to do too much in helping his teammates in the NC game and got burned a couple of times in the process

He was getting around ok in the Dome, that's for sure. But for most of the critical plays on offense, LSU went right at him, with pretty good success. If he is honest about it, I would bet that he would have been very frustrated after that game. Of course he couldn't do it all by himself. For the big plays, however, it was LSU offense v. Laurinaitis, and in that contest he was unable to stop the play.

He's a good linebacker.

Great first post.

I do think he's a little overrated, but to say he wouldn't make it at all in the SEC, come on.

I will say, I won't be shocked if he's an NFL bust, though.

Crazy!!! He is crazy good and he more than proved it in the MNC. I love how you think he would never make it in the SEC but Luke Sanders started every game for us in the uhhh uhh, SEC.

Nothing against Luke, but Laurinaitis is much better
