Yea...Because, you know...Giving up some field position is waaaay worse than giving up six points.

His release reminds me of John Elway's and Tony Romo's release. Not comparing him to them, but they are very similar.
methinks you don't know what the word "compare" means
That's funny because it's true!

As for Lee...I hope he does learn to read the D better. He does have good passing mechanics and I like to think he was put into a situation he wasn't completely prepared for. That is a tough situation for anyone to deal with...No matter what you do. And as for him being as good as McCoy, Bradford et al...That is yet to be seen

JJ 200 yrds 2 tds no ints 16 of 24 67%

JL 2 ints 10-18 no tds 56%

yesterdays scrimage.

DOC myself and all the fans agree with you. Your right.

The coaches started Hatch over JL.

The team and coaches support him 100%.

I told someone the other day that JLee reminded me of Matthew Stafford his first year, and that I wouldn't be surprised if JLee was our starter his senior year. Basing this guy's career on his performance as a freshman in the SEC is a little short sighted.

Good grief. Matt Stafford did not have Jefferson, Shepard and Garrett all ahead of him. He had a clear shot to the starting position at UGA because he stared as a freshman and never had to deal with any serious competition. If JL is our starter by his senior year that means the others have sucked and LSU football is in deep doo-doo at that point.

Bottom line: all RS freshman qbs thrown into suddenly starting in the SEC would have difficulty.

NOT all RS freshman starting SEC qbs would throw a record number of pick-sixes.

That has to make me concerned that JL's game instinct and technique will not be sufficiently high by the time his eligibility is up to be good starting qb in the SEC.

JL is right where he belongs right now--on the bench.

The same people who hated and loathed JaMarcus Russell for "not being able to read defenses" are the same ones on here who love JLee... hmmm...

I wonder what the difference is...

JL passed for almost 1900 yards his redshirt freshman year playing part time as QB. That does show that he can get the ball to the recievers. Unfortunately he can get it to the defensive backs too. Tell me the last true or RS frosh to pass for that much? Hodson maybe? JR, MM and RD sucked their first years too. The difference between them and MF is that MF had a chance to mature before being thrown to the wolves. Had RP kept is head on straight we wouldn't have had this conversation and JL most likely will have started next year based on being the oldest QB with some experience thrown in mop up duty. He would have done well without throwing as many INTs I would suspect. We've been burned on the INTS and think he sucks all around because of that, but the kid threw for almost 1900 yards playing as a part time QB! That was better than some full time SEC QBs last year!

typically, when you are losing by 2 td's or more, you have to throw the ball a lot more

I have a feeling if JJ plays poorly this year the same people bashing Lee will be defending JJ.

I would bet you that JJ doesn't throw 16 picks.

Maybe not but he could lose games other ways, will you come here and bash him? Fwiw picks are not always the qb's fault.
