They take player quotes and coaches press conferences blowing smoke to make them believe we are going to be undefeated and we have a BEAST at every position. Ridiculous.

But this player is Russell Shepard.

shep is the kind of kid who wouldn't bs, imo. he might not be right in his assessment, but i think we can be assured he believes what he is saying. that is cause for some excitement and optimism.

the QB should be getting the WR out of bed, not the other way around.

Agree. But as long as he's getting out of bed early than he would normally that's a step in the right direction

Can't believe our fans keep falling for this crap every season.

You would rather hear or expect to hear we suck and will not win a game comments?

It is what it is...filler for the media and preseason optimism expressed by those who work their butts off so that the fans will have some entertainment on Saturday and something to talk bout during the week.

We were a couple of plays away last year from losing 6 games.

Gee, here we go again. Both Bama and Texas were a play away from not even being in the NC game...so what?

I find it amusing how any good news out of spring training is met with "I'll believe it when i see it", but any bad news or a 30 second clip of JJ overthrowing someone turns into a 12 page bashfest of Miles, JJ, and the entire program.

CHok

It's because of what they SHOWED last year. It's easier to believe they suck and go the negative way instead of believing the same cast of characters have suddenly discovered how to coach the team in a better way. So NOW they make the reads easier? Now they "dumb down" the offense? So really Jefferson isn't stepping up, our offense is backing down to match his talent level!
If it can be done so easily, they should have done it last year.
BAD COACHING, PERIOD!

Like coming in 3rd in the toughest college football conference in the NCAA, being invited to play in a New Day bowl game, and finishing the season nationally ranked...that what you talking bout?

You are right...no way they improve.

I think JJ has all of the tools to be one of the best QBs in the nation, he just needs some confidence.

And what has he done for someone to think he could be the Best in the NATION..... wow

Pretty sure Dorsey said that about Nevis, not Woods.

This. Although it sure hasn't panned out that way.

Sorry, I didn't create the rules, but they are all about NOW, not past achievements. And last years comedy routine was at times horrible on offense. It was hard to watch.

being a leader means when the game is on the line, you “want” the ball in your hands, instead of pushing the coach to hand the ball off.

He said JJ could be ONE of the best QBs in the nation. I agree, I think with proper coaching and a good offensive scheme, JJ could be one of the best QBs in NCAA. For this to happen though we need a running game. I've always said that Jefferson is the perfect QB for a run first, play action oriented offense. Not the crazy arse shite we do with Crowton.

The point is they know how to win....they've been there and have won. Theres no reason to think they can't get there again.

Swag is good in combination with solid decision-making and sharp passes. Did Lowe comment on those two issues which are a little more crucial than his "swag"?
