So, we still in agreement?
Definitely. The end result is the same. We both think there is little chance or no chance anyone but JJ starts.
We disagree that there is no choice or bias in making personnel choices though. Any rational person would believe there is.

I can't believe you two are at it again.... at least argue with someone new so you can mess with them and piss them off.

dam shrubber, what's so hard to understand about Roads position? He made it pretty clear?
Prediction: JJ wins open QB competition
result: JJ starts vs Oregan
Your position: No open QB competition

Definitely.
Quite the change of heart, on your part.

I understand it clearly. We both expect JJ to start before fall practice has even started.

you both predict the same thing but your reasons why are different. The discussion is the reason why, not the outcome.

Do you not think there is a difference between the 2?
I expect an open QB competition. I predict JJ will win the competition going into the OU game.

You figured that out by yourself, Quad??? Impressed. I think everyone knows why.

good, just checking, because it seems you were saying that Mett would have no chance to start against Oregan even if he looks more capable of leading the team to a victory during spring and fall camp. Seemed you were saying it was already predetermined.

The only truly good thing/informative thing about this link is the accompanying link in the left hand column to the "Hottest Bartender" Competition. Good to see that Baton Rouge still has its share of talent.

From reports I have heard on the radio and 3 different people who went to the practice that the Gridiron club was allowed to attend the week before the spring game, JJ has practiced exclusively with the first team and Mett exclusively with the second and third team.
Obviously that is not an open competition and I see no reason to think Miles will change that in the fall. My opinion is if he puts Mett splitting time with the first offense the difference between Mett and JJ would be too pronounced to continue with the sham that JJ is the better qb. By having JJ play with the ones against the two's and three's and Mett with the two's and three's against the ones it keeps up the illusion that JJ is the better qb.

At the risk of being covered by tar wrestling around with this tar baby of a discussion...why is it LSU fans think Les Miles would purposefully play a worse player at any position? I can understand someone making the statement that they feel a coach can't tell his arse from a hole in the ground and thus will play the wrong player due to his inability to assess a player's performance...but that IS NOT what is being said here. It is that Miles is purposefully playing a player that he KNOWS gives the team a worse chance of winning.
That accusation goes well beyond player loyalty straight into program sabotage... Who truly fricking believes this nonsense?

Which is why I spend the majority of my time here over on the PoliBoard!

PoliBoard = scary, scary place. Not much original thought in that place, just both sides parroting bs unilateral talking points.

Nah...not entirely, though there is some of that. But it has to be your cup of tea to enjoy it.

FWIW, nothing in that piece contradicted what I saw at the Spring scrimmages I reported on here. Say what you want, but its not hot air.
I think the thing we're worried about isn't that Miles is "giving the job to the worse player intentionally," but rather that he's "giving the job to the guy he THINKS will be the best option, while not truly opening up competition."
I don't think its crazy after the past few years for us to think JJ might not clearly be the better option then Mett. I'll trust Miles, but only if JJ starts showing his shite on the field.

JJ starts entire season unless he breaks a leg, arm, etc.
