Um, yes...
82% budget cuts.

Awful examples. Go back and watch them play, then watch Jordan Mickey. Come talk to me then
I have watched all 3 and think all 3 had talent at LSU that could translate to the NBA. And Mickey is the best defensive player out of the 3.

the further east you go, the more sketchy it gets in terms of pay and lifestyle.
have a buddy who played at Colorado State and then ended up ni east Europe and said there was numerous times he had to demand to be paid, and when he was, it was cash.
He also played somewhere else not so sketchy and said it was very professional.

I also find it funny that the WNBA has a higher attendance than the Spanish league which is considered one of the best leagues outside the NBA.
LSU's average attendance is higher than the Spanish league.
The Greek league is considered 2nd best international league and has 9 teams with arenas that hold under 3k...

Yall are downplaying his abilities IMO.
You are greatly overplaying his abilities, IMO.
He's a garbage and energy guy. Which is great, and I love it when he's doing that. But he showed the last 5-6 weeks of the season when he doesn't do that, he doesn't do shite. 6'7 think PF's who are energy guys better play ruthless and be strong. He is neither ruthless nor strong.
And he won't get great weight training at the Idaho Stampede, Maine Red Claws, or the BC Zalgiris in Lithuania

Pure speculation. You have no idea the impact the proposed budget cuts will have on athletic scholarships, particularly in cases like Mickey where they would leave early for the pros and return.

Not a shock. If you've seen how he has played since the Tennessee game on the road, where he had a monster game, hes pretty much been in the NBA since then!

Why on earth would he get a sports scholarship? He couldn't. It would have to be academic in nature.

There is no way you think Mickey is better than Bass or Big Baby. And Jordan Mickey plays atrocious on ball defense. Biggest fallacy in LSU fans is Mickey plays good defense. He is an EXCEPTIONAL shot blocker, but a very bad on ball defender.

You know what I'm saying.
LSU never has and there is no indication that they will in the future make a former athlete that left early to pursue pro ball pay the full ride to come back and finish up their degree.

Let's get real, he ain't coming back for a degree anyway

Based on what, exactly? It's waaaaay more common than you think.

aka he plays defense-which NBA teams like.
But I listed what I thought were his attributes and his flaws earlier, you disagree with those?

He will receive great strength training in the D league. They have their own separate trainers/strength coaches who are all very well qualified.

you think 1 more year at LSU is really going to propel him by leaps and bounds? I don't.
If you're thinking he can improve his game in, say, Turkey, why CAN'T he do so here? Why can't he make another step as a junior?
On a related note, this is a forum dedicated to a college athletic program. Do you think any of these scholarship athletes should owe any loyalty to their university, or should they all leave as soon as possible?
Just my opinion- if you have a first-round grade and can become a star NOW, I'm ok with leaving, any sport. But I just don't get the burning desire to leave once you achieve "average prospect" status, and you have multiple years left. All the fall-back options are still there next season, and who knows, he might actually open some more eyes if he (gasp) improves more.

plenty of places will pay for you to go back to school too. Know a guy who was drafted out of HS to pitch for the Pirates, and part of his deal was that he had intended on playing for Vandy, so in his contract it stated that if he ever wanted to go back to school it would be paid for by the Pirates. He got Vandy reimbursement and then went to MTSU.

Yeah 10x is too high but he would still be making a lot more money

I don't think there is anything he will be able to do at LSU that will catapult him into this shoo in as an early 1st rounder.

I think he can improve his game in the NBA. He is likely going to be drafted. Google some mock drafts.

Really? I think every athlete and non athlete should do what is best for their future and their family. That's on them to decide what that is. But he doesn't owe anyone anything. You can't take Mickey's circumstance and try to use it as a blanket statement for all LSU athletes. That's ridiculous.

I want him to stay too. I do. It'd be awesome. Martin too

Well, if that's the case, the "he should stay and get his degree!!!" crowd is even dumber than originally thought.
