TCU is there for the top two cheaters of what most of the teams of the conference that LSU is in, is referred to as the SEC...
I said that long ago! If we have to fight Burninham and Slimy Slive from the commish; I wasn't going to pull for the team that has to play TCU in the BCS. and for the first time since I was a kid I am doing that this season. though I will pull for all of the other teams that are in bowl games. I'm sticking to that word!

the overwhelming majority of the fanbase still loves the players. it's the coaches, most notably the OC and HC, that we have a problem with.

Bump because everyone should read this.

I said this in an earlier post about supporting the seniors for their last game:
----------
For anyone who has a competitive drive and has competed in anything, you know that finishing second/losing stings and you never want to feel that. I'm sure the players feel that way. Losing sucks. I will be pulling for LSU this Saturday, and pulling for those seniors who are making their last impressions before the draft and for those seniors who know they won't be drafted and are playing simply because they love playing football for LSU. I have too much respect for the players to wish them anything less than success for the rest of the season.
Miles will not be gone at the end of this season regardless. And if he can correct things next year, I will pull for him. If not, things will work themselves out. But I won't disrespect the players who are out there playing by wishing them failure to accelerate the replacement of any coaches. That, to me, is a black and white issue, and to wish the players who are out there working their asses off, suffering season ending injuries, etc., because they are arguably getting bad instruction, is wrong.
-----------
I think what I posted in that thread is just as applicable here. I actually originally included a statement about cheering for underclassmen who were fighting to get on the field, too, but then decided to keep it tailored to the seniors for that thread. Regardless, I will watch the game this Saturday and I will be cheering for all of them.
On a side note, I find it too distracting to be on TD during games and never post then, but your brother's first TDs got me excited to the point that I had to resist logging on at the time and posting to congratulate him...

I was excited when he signed with LSU, am happy he's starting to experience a little success, and will continue to cheer him on.

Patches do us a favor and go jump off a cliff. Seriously, you got some problems!!!!!!!!!

You are so right. These young men need all the support from their fan base they can get right now. It's imperative that we finish our season with another W, resulting in a decent bowl invitation. Critizing and tearing down the program at this point does nothing but make the players feel at an all time low. It also will seriously damages out chances for another fantastic recruiting year. Remember, all the ranting cannot bring us a WIN over Ole Miss, but continuous complaining will tear down any fight the Tigers may have left. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!

I will be in TS cheering the team. Will also be in the Cotton Bowl watching them in Jan.
Thanks for your words dmitch. Your bro was great in the game. Looking forward to many more great TDs from him.

Dmitch,
I have been pretty rough on the coaching staff as anything less than a dominating performance with the talent they have at their finger tips is unacceptable. I always have felt that player performance and execution begins with coaching. The players deserve better and they will get it soon, I hope. Reuben had a great game and we look forward to seeing him blossom into one of the greatest receivers the SEC has seen.

I'm hoping this is sarcasm. If not, why have you even bothered to watch then? When most people are fans, they make an emotional investment in the team and feel a connection with the players. They want to see the players do well, and feel good, even proud, when the players succeed. It makes sense to see people venting their frustrations right now, even if some are overboard or misguided. But if you are this bitter and disconnected, why would you even be a fan to begin with?
Sure, there's a ton of room for improvement, but football is a dynamic game and every team goes through phases of improving and deteriorating performance during each game and over spans of games. If the Tigers can weather this sh*tstorm, lean on each other and play well the rest of the season, I will be proud of them. And I'm hoping they will and will cheer them on.
And it is not the players' efforts that are lacking... in case that is not clear to you in your bitter, self-pitying world.

Good posting. I'm behind my boys 100%, but it's time to take the bull by the horns. Les Miles is not the future of LSU!!!!! If he stays our recuiting will turn to shite and we will return to the LSU of old. Our BOYS DERSERVE MORE THAN THAT!!!!!! Let's finish the season with style, the send Les packing. Our TIGERS DERSERVE MORE, NOT "LES" FOR OUR 4 MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT!!!!!
Go to firelesmiles.webs.com and lets start a movement to get more for our TIGERS.

quote:Well as far as talent goes, that'd be the logical conclusion. But our coach has had many, many years of practice and he only seems to get more and more clueless each passing year/game. I don't see much reason for hope next year. Miles needs to start figuring it out real soon or next year will just be the next step lower. Oh, and by the way, I'm not calling for his head at this point because there is no way we can afford that buyout nor the fall out for firing a coach with the win/loss record he has. We are just on a slide that we all need to get used to for a few years.
Next year will be much better. Even I can see that.

Think of all the first-class guys we've had on our team over the past couple years. Add to that this year's graduating class acts like Scottie, KW, Trindon, C Mitch and others. Guys, you are the reason why being a Tiger football fan is THE best it gets in the sporting world. Can't thank you enough gents!

Sums up the way I feel EXACTLY.

For those who feel like Miles will never change - I humbly disagree. This is his line in the sand, his "Tim Tebow speech" opportunity...and I hope that some good arises from this situation from the players' standpoint as well.
It's time for us to honor this year's Seniors.
It's time for ALL FANS to be part of the solution, not the problem.
It's time for the unified L.......S........U....... chant from the stands.
It's time for the future leaders on this team to step up and make themselves known as well.

Me too!!!!
